About This File

High/Low 2 is a Doom Episode 2 themed level. Like High/Low 1, which was an episode 1 kinda level it is only meant to resemble the style, not to copy it. That is basically my general vision for this small series. The next level will resemble a Doom 2 level like Industrial Zone, Downtown, The Factory etc. For a bit more accurately themed Eps. 2 level, I suggest that you also play my "Rip it, Tear it Smash it!". Now that's good stuff! :-)

UV is by far not impossible, but it offers the good player a fair challenge.

A strong level with addictive gameplay. I already liked the first one, but this is definitely a further improvement. Two thumbs up! -TRRobin.

great stuff. If only the twits that think their 2000 monster slaughter wads would look and learn.

A very good looking map with very oldsk00lish gameplay (which is a good thing imo). However it's very easy even on UV, which drops the score a bit. 4/5

Great single map wad. I love the design. It isn't so hard but still it brings lot of fun. Nearly perfect for me. 4.5/5 - Damned

This was an absoulte killer map from start to finish, no doubts here. A typical Chris Hansen layout and was very pleasing to the eyes. Its quite hard on UV if you're not careful. Get it now. 4.5 Stars -PC

This is a great map, but does suffer from a few issues. Compatibility among ports other than ZDoom is poor, so this really should have been tested under a few different ports before release. The difficulty is also pretty low even on UV, despite what the text file says. However, it is a fun map with some decent architecture and worth playing if you like Episode 2 style maps. I do prefer High/Low 1, however. 4/5 -Reckoner

This is a great map! I becaame practically unconscious when reading the Newstuff review of this map! I mean, WTF - many bugs, difficulty complaints, average desing - the whole review is nothing but a stinking pile of BS. I hesitate to be so offensine, but I can't hurt to say anything but that THIS IS THE WORST WRITTEN, MOST STINKING, MOST CRAPPY, AND MOST ABSOLUTELY ******* AWFUL NEWSTUFF REVIEW I HAVE EVER READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

Very nice oldschool style map. The E2 style is recreated very well, with a great layout and challenging gameplay. 5/5 FP

4 stars for the nostalgy feel and for flowing gameplay. The looks were also pretty good, but a little cramped in places which didn't matter so much because of the big nostalgy aspect of the level and gameplay. Enjoyed it very much! -Kristian

I have mixed feelings about this one. It has a nice layout and good connectivity, but it's also somewhat cramped and the gameplay could've been more interesting, and in many areas the texture choices seemed weird. Then there's the issue with port compatibility. 3/5 - Belial

Awesome map. How in the world did this thing get torn apart in /newstuff (and I think it was #300 at that)?! Don't even get me started on that. It's an excellent Episode 2 style map and like the person above me said, it could have fit straight into ritesmit.wad, had the level been made at that time. I think even the custom sky (which does not ruin the original feel) is the same. One of the better single-level wads for Doom I/UDoom. 5/5.

Then there's the issue with port compatibility. 3/5 - Belial. Correct ! There is none. :( Especially the rising stairs which wont work on anything except (g)zoom because the linedef to raise the stairs is not tagged ! ( line 1757 ) Even if tagged # 60, they do not rise as intended for some reason unknown to me ...

A very beautiful looking map with a great layout. Chris Hansen is a master at having everything connect together in his maps. There are no pointless dead-ends or unused sections. The game play was average, although I didn't find much of a challenge. Ammo was a bit too abundant toward the middle of the map. Overall, a very nice map that every Doomer should play at one point or another!

Clean, solid design. Fits the E2 theme well. Only real issue is UV quite easy, but the gameplay is still entertaining despite this. Very good overall.

Great map, could easily have fit right in for a third level in ritesmit. Not that it's a problem though.

I liked this map the layout looks pretty cool my only complaint would be that it was an bit cramped detail was good no room felt empty to me gameplay was fun but easy alot of height variation made it fun for me monsters everywhere :) maybe an update in the future to make this map run on all ports 4/5 - DD

This is a fantastic level, especially the nicely flowing gameplay and great lighting. I'll give it 5 stars, which I rarely do. The best map I've played this year!

This map is awesome, could have fit right in with E2 itself. Only it would be much nicer than those maps. :) 5/5

A good old style map with good difficulty. It wasn't extremely hard, in fact a tad bit easy. But still quite an entertaining play. Looks nice, despite being a little cramped. I thought it was good. 4 out of 5 stars.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.
