About This File

The demons of hell have constructed a sprawling fortress within the guts of some unimaginable creature. Tunnels carved through flesh are supported by metal beams, while bunkers have been built on a foundation of muscle and tendon.

Terrifically detailed with some spiffy gameplay moments. However, the further I progressed into the wad the slower and more agonizing the experience became. I would suggest making switch puzzles 'clearer' so as to avoid the inescapable confusion of finding a solution in an area one may not remember. Having more moments where the demons come from the rear, or where they beleaguer the player from all directions would also improve flow, as well as the immersion of the level. Top-notch map, even so.

I thought the theme was executed brilliantly and I enjoyed many of the fights but I found myself puzzled as to what switches did and got stuck to the point of giving up in the area you drop in to.

Although some misalignements I loved the design. Sometimes there were too crowded places for baron of hell. 4/5 - Damned

An incredibly well done Hell theme - The Arterial Fortress has you descend deeper into Hell as you progress. There is definitely a challenge, so skilled doomers should find this enjoyable. The ammo and health was perfectly balanced. The map is quite cramped and linear, but it works for some odd reason. The only downside is the abundance of misaligned textures, but the design is still beautiful. Highly Recommended for the game play, theme, and design!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
