About This File

The idea behind this was to create a classic DOOM Megawad in two weeks. You can follow the development of the project at this thread in the doomworld.com forums http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39487

As calling the project DOOM 3 should be way too ambitous, we droped the idea, but the mod follows the plot right where Final DOOM lefts out. There are multiple references and alusion to elements from other chapters in the DOOM series, I'll send a special prize to the first who sends me a list of them all.

In case you like to add some background before playing you can read the plot right here (I put it now so you don't get tired before reading it).

But before that I want to advise you that jumping is not allowed.

not as bad as I thought. I don't like the custom bosses and some of the maps look like they need design tweaks. really, it's not noteworthy but it's fun to play if you're just bored.

clunky 1994-style maps that kind of sort of have music that didn't become grating last millenium and end with an interpic that almost gave me a heart attack the first time i saw it and occasionally bits of the most boring story in the world?! joy! unfortunately even drugging lizardcommando, icarus and torn and convincing them to join in with this shitstorm didn't make it any more palatable. 0/5

There are a few good maps in here, but there are also a whole lot of very, very bad maps as well. I guess it's admirable for two weeks but from a player's perspective it's not recommendable at all. Avoid. 2/5 --Woolie

There are definitely some weak maps in here and the stronger maps aren't stuff of legends, but overall worth a pretty strong 4/5. I liked the bosses, actually. For one thing you actually made the cyberdemon a formidable opponant again, and map 8's spider boss has a strong idea behind it (however a knee deep in the dead type ending to that map DOESN'T WORK if the game keeps going afterwards and you're forced to start the next map with 7 health in a monster filled arena!)

I tried the end level and the cyberdemons didn't have 2 rocket launchers. Why? I liked the final boss but not the attack where he launches 10-15 rockets at you where you could hardly dodge, no offence to the mappers. Overall it was great. 5/5.

I liked maps 13, 15, 16 very much, but there were some average and boring maps. Title pic, and outro was nice. And I didn't find these new bosses as annoying as others. Nice work in this short time. Good 3.5/5 - Damned

Pretty good stuff. The first 5 maps were kinda boring and I did not like the new bosses, but the later levels were pretty fun. Too bad all 32 levels weren't replaced. It has a nostalgic classic Doom/Doom 2 feeling to it.

Pretty good for 2 weeks work time. But why not make for a longer time and iron it out a little more? Either way, it's pretty solid for a quickly made megawad. It gets a 4, but only just. -TRRobin.

      It's large 1995 map. Starting area is looking nice, but later author lost creativity and made mazy corridors. Very challenging because of overuse of chaingunners. It's extremely annoying. Lots of traps, Some clever, some not fair.

      For 95' map is really ok. A bit "blocky" design, but not bad. Map is rather big, it takes me 40min but i get lost in one place. Some good traps, IMO kinda challanging at the begining, before you get ssg. Overall good classic wad.

      Fun map that captures a nice TNT-ish feel with plenty of weird yet also nice looking rooms, groups of hitscanners and demons to blast through, and a sense of adventure to it. Taking the MAP14 slot, you would see the episode 2 skybox of TNT: Evilution and listen to the track "Cold Subtleness", both creating a nice atmosphere to the map. Worth checking out!

      Doesn't like the layout and monster replacements, I didn't found RL until got the yellow key and found a lot of rockets, the location where RL is confusing me, and it also not fun when you get kicked down from the cliffs by Revenants, Mancubus and Archviles after the way to Blue key door, the way to the teleporter just far enough to kill you if not killed by monsters which kicked you down. Final timed puzzle room just nasty as the cyberdemon and archvile fights in the same place, not sure why make the level so big but can't make the fights with them also on bigger place too?   It's not bad level but I'm sure the frustration level is sky high, and not sure the slopes from ZDooM do anything good to this level too.
