About This File

4 maps from the third episode of Ultimate Simplicity that got finished before I quit working on it. Don't expect anything special.

like b-sides to Ultimate Simplicity. I like these too, short fun maps.

The original Simplicity map pack was excellent, but these maps leave me a little cold, gameplay-wise. Still a damn sight better than most. BUT for some reason playing this in ZDoom with -fast doesn't fully work - monsters shoot as regularly as -fast normally makes them shoot, but projectile speed and monster movement isn't "-fast" speeds. This kills the gameplay for me. :P

Simply Slender! Quite good. Not sure why the pack is called sp_fail though. If it was me I would have called it sp_i_rule or sp_fant for fantastique! 5/5

Exactly what I've come to expect from Simplicity maps: Good looks and at best average gameplay. 3/5

In the first level I read "local forecast disabled" and then I died. Wiser I start counting: 15 switches (could be wrong no previous experience with this) and 1 new monster. Ammo/health balance in all levels are fine. Btw, the other 3 levels are also polished base levels. Gameplay and fun improved in the third level and I liked the last level. #1, the pack is called sp_fail as it was ment to be a full episode. 3 stars from coldfusio.

Another pretty decent offering from AgenstSpork, though the whole wad is basically all techbase theme, but done in the usual great detal/classic play mode. Difficulty seemed to be balanced for the most part, though by the time you get your hands on an SSG you could have already used it a fair few times beforehand. The last map has a nice little melee in store for you, worthy of saving this from a lack of really difficult encounters. Overall, 4 stars, good job.

No matter how common has the simplicity theme become, I still love it! 4/5 - Optimus

Four excellent maps in Spork's trap-filled arcade-esque gameplay style. Worth a download. :)

Dude... You are freaking awesome!!! At some points of the map it scared the shit out of me cause the mosters don't appear on the map until you hit a switch, then the kill count gets higher. Not only that, but having the Tyrian songs live on in DooM? Freaking awesome!!! Normally I'd give a 5/5 but the Tyrian music made it a 15/5. :D

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.
