About This File

this is just a simple 10 map episode for zdoom. the levels are inspired by the level design of doom2, so the maps are simple and linear to very linear levels. jumping was disabled, in case you wonder why you cant jump.

if you use a zdoom launcher, start the game with map53

Pros: shown technical skills, nicely decorated, first levels play well. Cons: all levels look interchangeable, gameplay @ UV lacks variation and requires little tactical skills. Overall: basically well done, but playing it gets boring disappointingly soon. Small 4* for the pros and the effort.

I do admit this is a very simple yet fun map set. I enjoyed every level of it, from Map44 and on I realised it's kinda similiar to Doom2's original maps. I like your mapping style and look forward for more maps from you. 4/5 -Moti

I really liked it. Fast paced action and simple yet fun level designs. The music is pretty good too. The only complaint I have is that there doesn't seem to be enough health in the levels. 4/5

2 stars? I thought this was worth 4 stars. I mean come on... it was pretty fun. Good use of textures and everything. Difficulty is average. But still a good fun set of levels.

This was an okay level set, reasonable level design with some neat effects here and there. The difficulty doesn't progress, neither does the size and monster count as you progress through the wad. Sure there's a cyber in the final map, but it seems kinda *yawn*. Anyway, worth a play if you need something to do but overall nothing too spectacular, 3 stars.

I've never liked Pablo Dictter's levels; while technically sound, they are very linear and have dull gameplay in closed quarters. Here the cramped corridors are even more aggravating than usual and there's the added complexity of a couple of game-stopping bugs. There were some nice spots sprinkled here and there, so I'll give it 2 stars.

Poor in the beginning but gets better in latter maps.

This is just what I look for in a Doom II wad. :>

This pack was absolutely outstanding, should've gotten a caco. Ten levels of classic style, well balanced gameplay and architecture to match up with it. The soundtrack rocks too. Get this, now!

This is the umpteenth-and-one retro wad of recent months; like most of the others it's very good, with an emphasis on gameplay over baroque design. The maps start off with the airy, techy feel of Doom 1, and don't really progress to DoomII until Map45 (which starts off like Map17: Tenements). Even on hard mode, it doesn't get tricky until the last third; most players will whizz through this. Map48 has a nice disco light floor.

Very well done classic levels. These levels have a nice simple yet detailed design so very fun to look at and also fun to play. I did find, I think, one flaw. The last level, the red door is a open only once on one side. If you don't make it through the first time, You will have to clip. Other than that I loved every damn thing. Make some more levels please, these are really cool. 8/22/07

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
