About This File

New map for Heretic replacing E1M1. This is only my second level for Heretic. Its fairly large and straight forward in progression. Enjoy!

5/5 for creativity; 4.5/5 for structure; 4.5 for gameplay; 4/5 for sound; 3/5 for longevity; 4.5/5 for playability; 5/5 for fun factor; 4/5 for X-factor; 3.5/5 for uniformity; 4/5 for color homogeneity; bonus 1 mark for having a conclusive ending: so that makes: [(5 + 4.5 + 4.5 + 4 + 3 + 4.5 + 5 + 4 + 3.5 + 4) / 10) + 1], which is equal to 4.68/5, and in turn gives a score of 5/5. 5/5 ~ Freinkie98

I played it in Z-DooM and it rocked! I found the beginning to be a bit short on ammo but I liked that 'cause it forced me to think. The tome of power secret was useful for me to use the gauntlets to gain health! 5/5 - CodenniumRed

Great looking and playing map. The only thing that sucks is how short it is. Took me about 7 minutes to complete it. Starts out kind of difficult until you get the Crossbow, but after that it's pretty average difficulty. It WILL play on DOS if you recompile with extended limits. You will have to raise MAX_AMBIENT_SFX to at least 12 or it will error out.

this wad is fairly ok. Nice gameplay and architecture. 3/5 Daimon EDIT: this wad doesn't work on doomsday engine.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
