About This File

Phobos Reloaded was originally going to be a megawad remake of E1. I never got around to it too much and only completed this one map before trashing the project. It was originally planned for Vanilla (and runs fine with it too) but you're better off with ZDoom to get past the visplane overflows.

Good variation for e1m1. Nice details and gameplay. But it is quite easy. 4/5 - Damned

The level beat my expectations for E1M1 remakes. Great Job. 4/5

While it says "ZDoom required" on top, the description says that it "runs fine with" the normal engine (and thus Chocolate Doom, both of which it was supposedly tested with). As it stands the wad is broken and the description should be changed because it's misleading, since it severely crashes Doom and Chocolate Doom (the latter forced me to reboot after my system totally froze). This was a pretty good map, with some nice details and good use of the techbase textures, and did some cool things with the original layout of E1M1. But I can't for the life of me figure out why it was running so jerkily. It would have gotten a 4 except for the fact that playing through the level was really aggravating, since the action would pause every second or so. 3/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
