About This File

Rarely do you get a wad released that contains only levels using the Doom2 Wolfenstein textures. In my earliest days of WAD Designing I enjoyed making Wolfenstein themed levels but many were not released. But here I bring you exclusive Wolfenstein remakes of 11 selected Doom/Doom2 Maps using only the Doom2 Wolfenstein textures. I reccomend that you play each level from a Pistol Start. The list of levels are shown below.

until you get the chaingun it's rather tedious as heck due to the ss's being hitscanners in rather wide spaces. the idea seems cool for those who liked Wolfenstein but really it's not that good in execution. the Dead Simple level was actually quite nasty too.

The wolfenstein square labyrinth theme might be boring for some, I didn't played the whole WAD yet just for that only browsed through the first levels, but I think it's a nice attempt to make a wolfenstein based doom megawad and there are some harder occasions that makes this one challenging. I like the gameplay, I like that most of the maps are small enough to not get you tired, maybe I'll play and finish this tomorrow. I like the remake of the boss levels. 4/5 - Optimus

This one's hard to judge. It's a poor concept executed well, except that it's no fun to play. As the readme says, these levels use the Wolfenstein textures, they're laid out on a strict 128x128 grid, most of the baddies are Nazis. There are no lifts, no stairs. The levels resemble the originals but with more baddies. They remind me of why Doom seemed such a technical leap in 1994. The Dopedog is in Map10, which is an excruciatingly dull maze with 345 mostly Nazis.

Bah, bland mapsets imho, make a cool "modern style" remakes, or i'll you'll do it more wolf3d style (monsters, guns, graphics, etc.), but this one looks bland. 2 stars from Daimon.

It's not bad. The idea is a crappy concept, but it plays surprisingly well. It was well executed. I think what would have been better is if there were more nazi enemies instead of the standard SS guys. Oh well, I'd rather see this than those retarded jokewads. 3/5

I for one appreciated the maps' subtle charm, PC, and was pleased to see many of the famous maps reglorified in brick form! Some things that hurt reception however are the following: SSG found late in the game/levels (for many people); no genuinely challenging moments on UV; too many clusters of nazis; no significant enhancements over many of the original maps - offer something drastically new even if only in one room per level. Hope that wasn't too harsh ;) 3.5/5 (I know that you like scores

For blocky maps with 90 degree walls it was really good! The only thing I would have done different is use more 256-height sky areas for outdoors parts. Otherwise I liked it alot! The concept was done to nearly its full potnetial!

One of the better wolfenstein doom wads. The only thing that's missing here are the nazi dogs, but well 4/5, good job, man!

Well it appears that some of you are happy stagnating in the past... I for one don't like it. This is DOOM not Wolfenstein. If you like boring 2D levels then these are for you. No offence PC but this is not my cup of tea. (To all who don't like my review: Blow it out your arse!) 2/5

Meh this map is more of a 2 star for me. I lost interest after the first few levels, it felt a bit rushed. Maybe it needed more actual Wolfenstein 3D enemies then DooM enemies.-Candle M

Pretty good, only thing I didn't like was the lack of monster variety, more soldiers from Wolfenstein (Or even the regular Doom II monsters) would've improved this a lot.

Not the best I have played within the Wolfenstein 3D themed levels. Awful compared to others, but nice try.-Candle M

It's like Doom. Only with one height level and every wall is based on a 128 x 128 scale. The only time you've got a ceiling that's higher then 128 units is in the few outdoor areas, where it's 256 units. The only enemies in the level are SS Nazis, Demons, and the occasional doom enemy. The dope dog is just a texture from one of his crappy joke wads with the word dope dog written under it. So yeah. It's just a crappy version of a few Doom levels.

Interesting concept granted an enjoyable experience with the non-linear layout despite the redundant hordes of Nazis. Not challenging but a joy in 320x200 with Chocolate-Doom atleast. 4/5 - Bloodite Krypto.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
