About This File

My brother and I have built over 50 levels to date. Five of our earlier levels, were released on the Book/CD ROM 'Tricks of the DOOM Programming Gurus' by SAMS Publishing. This wad file is meant to represent a small community over run by the hell spawn. I have taken time in the detail of the level wooden supports grassy spots small sidewalks pictures on the wall and fireplaces ect. The level is difficult but not impossible by any means, and also makes a great deathmatch level as it is not impossibly big. There are a few suprises but no anoying traps or puzzles to solve, I hate those.

This is dated January 1996. It's a small Latin-looking town, with 93 baddies. The style is slightly better than amateur, but there's one really irritating design decision near the start - the windows are invisible walls that you can't walk through, even though it looks like you'd fit. The gameplay involves flicking switches to open distant doors. The designer messed up the end switch - the button works, but the switchface points the wrong way!

I didn't really mind the windows, as they added to the challenge by allowing the zombies to aim at you from different sides while you advance through the first area. Ammo balance is kind of tight (although one of the arch-viles can help mitigate this), but there are few monsters for the level size, and they are far between, which makes play relatively mild. It looks a bit silly (as many "town" levels do), but not ugly. ~Chain Mail [2/5] (04/2008)

This isn't that great. The level design is below average and you can't climb through the windows. 1/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
