About This File

Its a large map in the general shape of a pyramid. It took 3 years to make because the previous 2 drafts were way too small, and I did spend quite a lot of time on them.

Not bad at all, but I'm not a fan of nonlinear levels, so I can only give this 3/5.

This one's hard as fuuck. Pity difficulty settings weren't put in, but it's clearly an impressive large-scale map. I'd like to see a pro playing through it.

A "Boom-compatible" wad that was never tested at all in Boom. Almost inevitably, it crashes Boom 2.02 when it tries to load the map. Mandatory 0/5.

^ What he said. + I played this on UV -fast and found I had more chance of the hell spawn in-fighting - which is essential as there is not enough ammo to kill every baddie. Also it's impossible to get 100% kills as John Romano's head is spitting out more baddies. Still though, a very tough but enjoyable map. 4/5

Better than the scores it's getting. Most maps are small and the same. This is large and interesting. It's challenging, but it isn't bad at all.

Lost interest half way into the level. It just seemed unfinished and unplayable to me. 1/5.-Candle M

I really like the big huge structure this map is based, some of the ideas, but it's too hard, I made it till the middle with many saves, but then I had to also cheat. 3/5 - Optimus

This is a large castle-style level with over 450 baddies. The design is old-fashioned, but on a grand scale. It's a bit wonky though. A couple of times I got stuck because I was too fast for a trap (e.g. with the sphere near the beginning); the gameplay throws lots of monsters at you willy-nilly, with cyberdemons and archviles etc, and you have very little ammo. It's no fun punching 300+ spectres and demons. You have to be very patient to beat the level.

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
