About This File

These are the first three maps of a megawad I work on, on and off, called "Hybrid Awakening." I wanted to release the first three maps to the public to see if I am going in the right direction so far. The story is pretty sparse. Your a creation that wakes up in an underground lab. You have an electronic eye-patch (hud-face lol) and a katana nearby. The UAC is defunct and some new organization called "Hybrid" is up to no good, cloning demons and such. Naturally you have to go into their tech-base called the "Kappa Tower" and kick their asses. Good luck.

This looks like a great start can't wait for the complete project please finish the megawad. Love the katana and the claw that replaces the spiked knuckles. The new music is good too. Not to mention it's fun might be a little too easy for veterans so subtract a half a star if you are one

5/5, very good old style. Simple but efficient architecture, lots of fun. The Tyson in Map01 is cool.

It's a little buggy, and somewhat simplistic in the layout, but it's a fun twenty minutes.

Pretty cool mapset. It's a little bit on the easy side, but it's still good. The map design feels a bit old-schoolish, but in a good way like Memento Mori or Requiem. You should seriously try to finish this megawad, or at the very least give it some kind of proper ending.

The maps looked really nice and the lighting is also good but make the maps more challenging on UV. 5/5

This is what I would call just ok stuff. Did anyone else see the phantom sword in the wall in the outside area? I'm using the newest GZDoom. 6/26/08

Sweet. Make more like these! ;) (There is a bug, though: on the final elevator in level 3, you can jump out the windows and into the sea, but you're obviously not supposed to do so and will be stuck if you do.)

Excellent fun!, and nicely designed levels with just the right amount of switch/key hunting, combined with good battles, i played on HMP and they where pretty easy, though. The odd extra HK here or there would spice things up

This is much better than Noob Project 5. If he can make stuff like this, why did he make Noob Project 5 in the first place? Anyway, I didn't like how the fist and sword didn't have black-gloved hands, plus you can fall out the windows on the lift near the end of MAP03 and get stuck forever, but otherwise I have no complaints. At the moment. 3/5 -Remiel

Superb firework display of thousands of fireballs seeming in slow motion because of the vastness - mostly avoidable as they land where you were ages ago; but worth playing just to see it. A HUGE square surrounded by tiers with hundreds of imps and a few others, plus a blockhouse you can enter first to collect ammo.  Fighting through the hundreds of monsters when you get onto the tiers is another matter, overwhelming at UV. I cheated to finish so at least I could review.  Some HOM bugs.

Laggy hell with 32k monsters and too much invulnerability spheres. Just... total vomit.

Insanity, with voodoo dolls (see second screenshot).  I get the idea of a shooting gallery if that rocks your boat, but 6000 monsters behind railings- as far as the eye can see, FFS! My PC crawled when I looked towards the invuln spheres (someone said 32 k of them and you can't avoid picking up thousands at a time). In the end I cheated with god mode and no-clipping, and waded in among the chaingunners until I got bored.

Simple, clearly a first wad.  All on the flat with big, brightly lit, and architecturally implausible rooms. The first map has two rooms, the second map one, and the third map one plus a kind of exit lobby. You can do one of two things - just run past the monsters and finish (I did it in 35 seconds), or have a bit of fun killing the monsters first. No noticable bugs. I hope the author will go on (or went on) to greater things.
