Fuzzball Fox came up with the concept of using only 10 textures for a map, and challenged the ZDoom forum members to create 15 single player maps and 5 multiplayer maps that used this limit, and also limit the player to a 2048x2048 area. The resulting mapset is split into two episodes, SinglePlayer (starting MAP01 and ending on MAP15) and Multiplayer, which can be played either as a second single player episode, or with up to 3 other players co-operatively (starting on MAP16 and ending on MAP20). All maps are pistol start compatable. The secret exit in the single player episode is in MAP12, which takes you to MAP21. The coop episode has no secret level.

Didn't acheive the greatness I expected, yet was I supposed to expect anything from something created by the only mappers who gave a shit about a project to only use 10 textures? The good mappers left this alone, they continued on with their actually good projects and left us with the mediocres having too much fun. Expect every stereotype of zdoomers when playing this. 2/5

bland at best, ugly at worst. i was hoping for some amazing 10sector-esque mapping trickery that'd make me forget i was playing maps with only 10 textures, but these pretty much look exactly like what they are. the gameplay is mostly pretty bad, too. some maps are okay, but others are either repetitive or simply unplayable.

Maps are pretty small, but also good. Deserves more than the current rating it has. I liked it. The last map reminded me of Skulltag's Invasion mode, and I really liked it. Good job. 4/5 -Moti

congratulations guys, those community projects like OMG LETS MAKE A MAP WITH 10 SECTORSL OLOLOLOLOL or OMG LETS USE 10 TEXTURES TO SHOW TEH GUYS THAT WE ARE COOL OMGOLOL SUCK. idiots, why don't you just make standard maps instead of using those lame ways, that always make the maps lack of good stuff. 0/5, even if some maps are good (map02 was kinda epic), this wad is just a waste of time.

^Moron. Define a 'standard' map fool. The 10 sector challenge make for some interesting standard & NON-standard maps, which may be beyond the previous reviewer's (term used loosely) mental capacity to grasp. Nothing spectacular here, but some interesting layouts which I enjoyed playing. 4/5

like most concepts,some will like it;some won't. I thought it was pretty good.[considering the restrictions of 10 textures & 2048x2048]map 02[zombie bouncing up& down on the column was pretty funny]&the last map[invasion-style]w as pretty challenging.4/5 for the overall effort.good work guys!

Just like any community project, there's a handful of great maps, a plethora of average maps, and a couple of stinkers. Some pull off the limited textures well, and some fail miserably. But overall this is a solid mappack. Definitely worth a look. 3/5 -Ace

A great set up maps here, a couple not as good looking as some of the others, but still fun to play...Specially for the limits set on textures some of theme levels look very nice indeed! :O I loved the secret level too- very original and fun! A must download! 5 out of 5!

Ehh. This one's a mixed bag. Some good maps and some bad maps are thrown into a pot and stirred until the results are this entire mappack. 3 stars is a bit too generous but oh well.

A decent mapping challenge and idea, but just because you limit yourself to 10 textures and a smaller mapping area doesn't mean you should also sacrifice detail and gameplay. Though some maps were pretty interesting. 2/5

It probably is more like 3 out of 5 but since Doomworld has this war going with zdoom.org and hates everyone associated with the site I'm giving it a 5 to balance out all the negativity

This kind of stuff really shows how bad most of the ZDoom community has gotten creativity-wise in its open projects. The first ZDCMP was amazing but now now I'm glad ZDCMP2 will never see the light of day if THIS is the best thing the community can put out anymore. ZPack was only "sucessful" because good mappers like Vader and Xaser were just barely able to save it with good ideas but they aren't present this time. Some of these maps are just plain awful.

      Some very cool techbases with a nice texture set and pallette.  The music is pretty epic.  And it all runs in vanilla! (Or so it is said, I played it in GZDoom)

      I honestly can't believe that this whole megawad is 100% vanilla compatible and its only the first of THREE episodic megawads! Esselfortium and her team of creative energetic mappers has done an amazing job from the unique texture set, the music, the maps & even the tweaked color palette that fits the mood of the whole thing.    100% highly recommended! 5/5

      A pretty straightforward map to run through, packing in tons of enemies in rooms both big and small. Most of the monsters you'll be killing are E1 monsters such as Zombiemen and Imps, so while there isn't much in monster variety, there are plenty of ways to get them to fight each other which I like. It might be better to try and get as many monsters to start attacking at the same time since once you get the Chaingun, not even the groups of Spectres are much of a threat. Overall though, the map is still fun to blast through if you just want to kill tons of monsters in packs.

      this is a strange wad, with assets similar to Darkest Hour and other Star Wars-themed wads, many of the maps focus on small killings, as most of the maps are actually small. Pinchy's finale sure makes this worth it. oh yeah, quite a few custom stuff was done. the flamethrower marines were quite annoying, while other monsters gained multiple attacks, new ones, it's all so zany. the maps are pretty well done overall and this is worth a try.
