This map is undeniably awesome, so 5/5. However, I didn't think ZPack was bad at all and in fact, it is currently rated at 4/5 on /idgames. So I don't really see why so many people are just thrilled this got released separately. After all, an overall rating of 4/5 (as in ZPack) means by definition that the overall consensus for the wad in the community is quite good. And a number of the comments beneath "Reviews:" for ZPack are positive. So I don't see where all this bashing ZPack is coming from.

I pushed Vader to release this set on its own. I don't think it's selfishness on his part to want his maps released as a stand alone project, he doesn't "owe" anyone in this community. That said, I'm glad these are released seperately; These maps are astounding, some of the best I have ever played. I no longer have to recommend "Play zpack maps e1m7-8", I can just point people to this wad to show an example of some of the best mapping possible. -Scuba

50th vote!!! 0 Stars for being "too slow" J/K!!! (someone needs a new comp - it's not the 90's anymore.) Vader is now my favorite mapper, next to Espi of course. 5/5

Definitely one of the best looking wads I've ever seen. Probably outshines even the creators of the game themselves.

Good design, but gameplay is a bit subpar. Better than KDiZD, but subpar anyway. 4/5

Awesome maps. I suffered a bit of slowdown on MAP02 at the beginning but aside from that, it was smooth sailing for me. That last boss was a bitch to fight.

This is the story to a new Doom2 age! The story continues. Mixing in different WAD textures from Momento Mori, Eternal Doom, really make this a new Age Doom that is a true to follow up experience! Meet some new enemies along the way, face some old type but newer versions of Baron of Hell!

Two maps that expand out to 22mb; they're extremely detailed, with lots of ZDoom effects. Map01 is surprisingly compact, with a very modest monster count. It's easy, but good-looking and fun to play. Map02 is like "Bridge at Remagen" and would make a good WW2-style level, perhaps with Wolfenstein's Hitler at the end! It's easy as well, but again the gameplay is finely-honed. They both make a change from 1,800-monster slaughter slogs.

Scripted battles, linear gameplay, squarish rooms... Some boring 1-on-1 combats... Typical zdoom kreation, not my cup of tea. 2 stars.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
