About This File

Seven levels for any limit removing port.

All the levels are built in grid with the 32x32 dimensions. It means all vertexes lay on knots of a grid 32 in editor, but this rule does not extend on things. New textures and flats were not allowed.

All the maps except map05 can be run in Doom2-Plus after adding sprites (deutex -as 32innail.wad) and applying the deh (except first section with high quality sound replacement for ports). PrBoom-Plus or GZDoom are recommended.

Different, and it works. Great job Eternal, would like to see more in this series, though I didn't care for the new sprites.

Overrated! It's not bad, but it isn't great either. The visuals are mostly sub-par IMO, the 32unit grid restriction makes the architecture look blocky... texturing is quite ugly sometimes as well. Gameplay-wise I found the first 3 maps to be quite boring and while map05 is a good start, it certainly fails to compete with other HR style maps! All in all I didn't enjoy playing these maps and I think there're tons of better classic maps out there! The recolored PE's also look ugly as hell. 2.5/5

Map05 is way too laggy to play, I had to edit it out of the wad and re-sequence the map numbers. Not to mention lower the health of the final boss as it is ridiculously overpowered (25000 HP). Other than that, extremely atmospheric.

It's great! even with Brutal doom! the 1 level That had a serious shit ton of Monsters was level 5. My GZdoom was the 1.8.2 edition. The level that had the Spiderbutt in level 6 was Freaky! but give it thumbs up.

Really solid. Map 2 and 2000 monsters are too hard. I liked the atmosphere A LOT. You should have added the plasma marines.

I have such a long time since I last played such an atmospheric level. There are also a lot of surprises and traps. 5/5 - Optimus

This is one of those level-sets that almost force you to move quickly, as edging round corners can result in a fireball in the back. Layout can get a little confusing at times, but some areas look amazing. 4/5

Seven atmospheric maps in an interesting style - it starts off like an incredible 1995-era levelset writ large, then turns into a fairly normal large-scale hell at Map05. I liked the abandoned computer banks in Map03. Map05 is a visual feast, although not much fun to play; Map07 seems a let-down. The early maps are moody but often seem to just go on and on and on, and Map06 and 07 are anti-climactic. Nonetheless it's very Aliens-esque and good fun when it works.

Map 3 won't end in GZDoom. I get on the elevator at the end, the lights go out, I take a hit of 15 damage to HP and armor and that's all. Even if I drop health first and let it kill me, nothing happens.

The enviroment was constantly creepy, and as another reviewer stated, you have to move quickly before you get shot. The atmosphere was amazing in every map. Map05 pretty much lagged my computer. Yet, I kept playing through this, it kept me interested and it well deserves its score. A must have. 5/5 - Moti

Yep very nice and creepy maps. I think map 2 needed more than one shotgun since it's easy to miss the first one. Map 5 moved at 1 fps for me lol... Map 1 and 2 struck me as the most memorable, but the other ones were amazing too. I liked how the player was forced to stay alert, watch in all directions. Awesome stuff, really! And non-linear equals godly!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
