Titan II Review:

The Good:

  - Big Maps - Lots of detail

  - Loads of everything to keep you going

  - Dogfighting galore – but not a slaughterfest

  - Lots of secrets that are rewarding

  - “New” monsters are great

  - Minigun rocks!

The Bad:

  - There’s no Titan III

In Short:

Whoever said that Titan II was better than Titan I was absolutely 110% correct! (and I loved Titan I as well). Much work went into this fantastic WAD. Every Map was excellent. Never boring.

I had loads of fun playing this Titan II. Maps 07 and 09 were my faves.

Bravo! Thanks for making it. :)

Solid 5 out of 5 Stars

Cool wad, average gameplay at best but the detail/ambiance is enough to make it an enjoyable experience. 4/5

I personally think this is a 1-2 star material, detail is good but gameplay? Hell not, every map is pretty much made on same gameplay structure except map10 or map09, sorry but making me cry because i could'nt find most of shit for err.... shit isn't good - 2 stars. Avoid it like a plague if you search for something that is not boring/repettive

Sweet stuff, especially map06. I don't think that the reviewer who said some of the maps had to be "among the hardest things ever" has really played some of the more impossible DOOM maps (and no, I'm not talking about NUTS), though. ;) But yeah, 5/5.

Amazing work! Every single map was awesome in it's own way, I enjoyed every minute while playing this wad and if you don't download this and give it 5 stars you need mental help. - Moti

^ Agreed, it is great work. I thought Map04 was a bit weaker perhaps, but each map is good and they are about the right length overall. Worth the wait, IMO.

Cool, someone used the music I created over 12 years ago! :D Some of these are Marilyn Manson covers, and although I didn't write the original tracks I did create the midi's completely from ear (just for fun like). -Lexus Alyus

A mixed bag. Some good looking maps mixed with some really average looking ones. And the same goes for gameplay. 3/5

If PII wasn't hard enough...here comes this. The big 1300+ monster map and the final map have to be among the hardest things ever - it took some real strategy and a lot of patience to beat those on UV -fast. The detail and the new monsters are great too...the winged baron even uses the attacks from the prototype orange baron I made for an early version of KDIZD, nice to see some things weren't forgotten. - T.U.D, aka raving Doom lunatic/madman (see txt) with go faster stripes.

Throughly enjoyed this one. While for ZDoom, it is mostly a typical Doom-like episode with some new features but nothing that makes it feel like a different game. I thought all the maps were balanced well and none seemed to drag on for too long. They all looked nice and played well. No map seemed to drag, and there were no ridiculous puzzles to ruin the fun. Can't wait for Titan 3 (hopefully there is one)! 5/5

Great map set!Beautiful design and great monster/ammo/health placement.Difficulty increases with each new level, making you want to outlast/defeat the monsters rather than cheat/quit in disgust.Hope this one doesn't get overlooked at Cacoward time.Great work!Download and play this one!5/5-d.d.koop

Let me get it straight and correct here. It WAS good the first maybe 8 levels or whatever. Then this bowels of someone came. The author completely WASTED this whole WAD with this one level. I mean there is a difference between challenge and being plain unfair. So unfair it does not matter if you reach an inv.sph or if you play coop with 20 pals. Got no probs with 1360 enemies, but it is a prob. when they come all at once. The whole WAD was so great til this level. Sad!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
