An abandoned base hidden in a cave. Abandoned? What's that, hiding in the gloom...?

Slow-paced and very easy... not my style.

Feels easier to complete the map than it does to find all the secret areas. Still good stuff.

This is from February 2009. It's a fun, non-linear lava mountain techbase, with 350-odd monsters, surprisingly easy gameplay. The design is nicely detailed and eschews overt source port features. The main problem is that you have loads of health and ammo, generally hidden in easy secrets (including one marked on the map), and so it never feels dangerous. The name is not appropriate. Nonetheless I liked it, it feels like a good part of a megawad.

To the reviewer who said, "Needs supershotgun", there is a SSG at the bottom of a chasm. As for the wad, great stuff. 5/5

One of the nicest architecturally designed WADs I have ever played ever!!! And a preety nice play (not very hard, cool secrets, not confusing) too. 5/5 - Optimus

Just brilliant. A large, nonlinear but sensible lava/tech/outdoor base with a very high standard of construction and detailing, you really feel like you're on top of the world when you get the yellow key. Enough monsters to keep you going for over half an hour, clever secrets which aren't too hard or too easy. The gameplay was admittedly a tad easy and with too much health. Still, this is one of those maps you just don't want to end. 5/5 jj

Very great looks, both detail and lightning. Difficulty was just fine for me on UV - admittedly, I like to rush, suck at finding secrets and missed the SSG until after the red key, and plasma gun until the map was over. The only flaw I could find is there's some obvious copy&paste at times, but really this is worth 5/5.

Finally a really decent map again. No unfair battles, nice arch, everything allright. Finding secrets helps. Very good work: 4+/5.

Secrets are too powerful and why is this ZDoom only? Other than that, this is excellent.

Very good quality. Not too many memorable battles...but it's also nice to see a level without a ridiculous amount of chaingunners, revenants, and other assorted bad nasties. Definitely a keeper. 4/5

Pretty awesome map. The layout was very nice and the visuals were pleasing to my eyes. There were a few areas that irked me but, overall, they were anything worth stressing over. 4/5 -Mek

The layout was nice and big, but the gameplay felt like it dragged. 3/5.-Candle M

A beautiful map. A bit easy but a lot of fun. Not quite as good as Axiom, but quite good anyways. 4.5/5, rounded to a 5 to be nice.

After you get past the start, gameplay moves fairly smooth with plenty of health/ammo/cover. Never really in any danger after that.-3.5[4]/5 for being almost as nice Axiom for cave/base looks.-d.d.koop

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
