About This File

Some generic base themed level that was meant for a project which I assumed never saw the light of day so I am releasing it as a standalone map. File was further tweaked and fixed some texture alignments and a tag error in Doom Builder. Originally for MAP10 but changed it to MAP01.

Not a bad map at all.

A few mis-alignments to be found here and there but it doesn't take away from the snappy flow of the action.

Having played Mr Chris' more recent work, it's interesting to see how he fared back in 2003. There's not much texture alignment going on but it's certainly a good layout with some amazingly devious and intense gameplay. Let your guard down during these 20 minutes and you'll get your ass handed to you! Recommended! 4/5

An oldschool-esque map that excels in good and well-balanced gameplay. Mr. Chris is certainly an oldschool type guy who often seems to focus on good gameplay and satisfactory but basic architecture and this map is no exception, as good as his E2 series of maps IMO. 5/5

A lot of odd texture choices and misalignments, but I like the style and the gameplay was very decent. I particularly liked the fight at the red skull area, some really cool effects going on there. "Simple but enjoyable" is well-put.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
