About This File

I've been mapping for quite awhile, mostly just messing around with doom builder, making small maps which I haven't decided to release. I was bored one day around seven months ago, and this map is the result of that boredom. This is the first map I've ever released, it's a straight-forward blowthrough, not too difficult and it offers around 15 to 20 minutes of gameplay...maybe less for skilled players. I'm looking for constructive criticism too, just a thought. Load it up, pick up the shotgun and have fun!

Runs fine in good old Doom2.exe for me, though I still play it in zDoom out of habit. The name doesn't mean anything, my buddy just thought it sounded funny.

Demonic Libido is a fine way to kill 20 minutes or so. Pavera's sense of pacing is superb, building from wholesome low-tier massacres to dances with mancs and revs, with the nastiest baddies (AVs, Pain elementals, Cyberdemons) reserved for the occasional "pop-quiz" ambushes. It all creates for a violent but fairly laid back experience (watch out for the Red key and exit fights!). The visuals are clean and polished, perhaps a little plain and unadorned but still pleasing. While the layout is a far-cry from the sophistication Pavera would later develop, dlibido's floorplan still impresses with its commiment to visual connectivity and flowy layout.

3/5 for the map itself. 5/5 for the name.

really huge map here, lots of combat in a very cool hellscape.

Very good map indeed with a nicely managed progression from a tech-crawl through to some hell. Gameplay is well balanced, and ammo / monster placement are also good. Worth playing.

Wow, what a blast. Detailed, but not to the point of overdoing it; difficult, but not unfair; fun secrets; fun surprises; great 'descent into Hell' theme. Unfortunately, the level bested me around the lava pits (near radiation suit), but this is one WAD that will be staying on my desktop until I beat it in one go.

Tough in spots, but nothing over the top. Just a solid, fun map with several distinct sections, giving it a somehow classic feel. 4

Pretty damn good. Some nasty traps in a nice layout, chaingunners definitely keep you on your feet. Texture alignment lacking compared to other modern maps but that's okay. Feels very much like a good Vanilla Doom 2 map. Impressive first release. 4/5

Quite good! While the architecture isn't very detailed, it manages to look decent in most spots anyway and the level is long and challenging, with multiple intense fights keeping it fun all the way through. I though the room with the 2 archviles and 4 or 5 or so Chaingunners was a bit over the top though; I had to dash for cover and hope to survive with not a moment to relax. The room right after the sewer maze is a bit over the top too, with all the shotgun guys in the slime. But overall, quite good. 4/5

It didn't feel oldschool at all to me, with texture choice being coordinated and thematic, architecture relatively straightforward rather than abstract, and ammo/health tightly balanced. That isn't to say it's a bad map. Very enjoyable. 4/5

A map that definitley still had the oldschool DooM II feel to it. It was big, had a few secrets, and plenty of monsters to frag. The archviles and cyberdemon was a nice surprise heh. Overall, a nice wad to play with a weapons mod :D 4/5!-Candle M

Solid old-school DOOM mapping, very polished and a lot of fun to play. I'm no DOOM expert, so this was quite a challenge but I made it in the end. Looking forward to some more efforts, definitely a great start to your mapping career. 4/5.

I like it a lot, especially the sewer maze and follow-up rooms. Hmm.. maybe your map should have had more tough monsters and scare tactics. I was a bit careless at the start, so to me the map started out harder than it finished. I was definitely impressed by many of the sections. Thanks.

Pretty solid. It was a nice challenge and wasn't overly hard. Some fun surprises here and there. Also, some nice looking areas. As far as suggestions go, I only have a couple. I thought the sewer hallways leading to the room with mancubus in it were too cramped. Also, I think you should add another archville in the sewer room. I was hoping the two pain elementals and the archville would be enough, but I don't think it is. But ya, other than that, I enjoyed playing your wad.
