About This File

Nothing Special. A simple classic vanilla WAD for Doom or Ultimate Doom with no real story behind it. Just maps. Basically a compilation of some of my very old work, started in June 2003 and ended in December 2003 but never realeased. After 6 years, touched them up, added detail, Improved gameplay and released.

decent, possible to get stuck in E3M4 though.

Very solid, not quite legendary as a whole but definitely one of the 'underdogs'. Recommended.

This episode was a pleasant surprise for me. What I expected to be an average Hell episode turned out to be exceptional. E3M6 and E3M7 are almost legendary (they remind me of Death Tormention 3, which is a good thing). The challenge was a perfect balance, which I don't say too often. A lot of thought was obviously put in the ammo and monster placement. There were a few unaligned textures, but not enough to distract from the great detail. I would definitely recommend this to all Doomers! 4/5

Awesome work Bishop! Tehehe, I cant wait for Templar! I give it a 5/5 (I'm glad to see you fixed the issue on e3m1 in that circular room with the lifts). No real issues, its a spectacular map set. Old School fun with a few touches of modern mapping skills. -Ivory

author. please. if you tested your map only in zdoom, then you should write string "advanced engine needed: zdoom" always! no matter what on your mind - zdoom is bad choice as test platform. test your map at least in prboom+ & chocolate. here you miss BRICK8 at least.

...and that blonde's tool (slumPed) builds wad dirty (PNAMES in particular), so I even not able insert missed texture by myself in XWE.

Pretty cool, some nice hellish maps in a classic style that emulates id Software's own E3 very closely, perhaps with a few familar areas from the original levels and PSX Doom but mostly the author's own stuff. Difficulty level is good, challenging but fun. If they had released an Episode 5, this would be it. Check it out if you love vanilla-style hell maps. 4/5

A fine episode for Doom I, in the E3/E4 style. I found the challenge to be balanced pretty well, with secrets making the play considerably easier, as they should. Only noteworthy complaint is a few symmetric areas and a few mazes full of Lost Souls that I could have done without (on E3M2,3,4, and 6). Recommended for those who enjoyed the second half of Ultimate Doom, 4/5.

Pretty solid episode. My only problem was that when I got to E3M2 I had about 2% health and I spawned into a pool of blood which killed me. But that's just my fault, and doesn't lessen the playability of these maps. 4/5

Besides that missed texture this wad contains bunch of vanilla-specific bugs, some of them are critical, what makes playing almost impossible on some maps. And some maps planned/balanced terrible imo (m5 for example). Hire a good beta tester and this wad will be cool thing! But no me. I got up. /hth

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
