Sucks that the link to Romero's site isn't working anymore... happened to other stuff as well on his site.

Regarding the map...

albeit one of the typical 90ies atrocities(which are a classic niche by now) it's way better than expected as there's at least some meat to gnaw on game play wise. Looks wise it's more than ok too(ignoring some fluff).

Cons

-"look ma I can make 4000 rooms" syndrome(+tedious search for keys & doors)

-as square as Romero's fat wallet

-narrow door frame width which is unpractical and looks bad

-more obvious marking on the key'd doors would have been nice

-too many items(put there without second thought)

-can't go outside(could be I missed it!)

Pros

-chunky 90ies relict

-somewhat good architecture besides the inane clutter

-the office turning "more hostile" after a key grab was cool

the last thing should have been made better use of.

Could have been a really cool map if some details were changed / some good things more expanded upon.

A beautiful rendition of that emergency escape routes planimetry you see all time if you had the chance to visit or even work at any office or any other local places, remade in DEU or whatever shitty editor goes in 1994. The planimetry made is from the place this guy works back in 1994. All is grey and black, all the key locked doors missing the board that show the key needed and after you take the yellow key some asshole in the office starts to turn on and off the lights and everything starts to look like a spooky rave place... in HELL!!1! Or just New York.

Anyway, looks like the author of this map is famous for some reason, anybody can tell me why? There was a (unreadable) link that sends to old romero blog site about the story of this wad, i really want to know about it!

tupical '94 shittywad, filled with many square rooms, textured poorly. gameplay is nearly absent. in our times Oblige can generate a lot more interesting level. zero.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?
