About This File

Scars of the Wounded Prey just wasn't hard enough. So this wad outdoes it in every aspect. Jumping and crouching required. Choice of "Tough" and "Slaughter!" flavours. Picking Slaughter! will almost definitely get you owned at some point. Try with a friend, then you can dish out (and take) twice as much pain!

Looks good, plays well, but not nearly as hard as the description says. I got through on first playthrough without deaths on Slaughter!, and I'm not a doom god. It's challenging but not more than most other wads. Jumping and crouching are only required to find secrets, there's no annoying platform parts. Music was tedious, different tastes and all that I guess. Overall a fun map that should be worth a try for just about anyone. 4/5

Pretty good action packed level. But not legendary material, so 4/5.

A typical Phobus map, looks great with lots of clever creative design ideas you've probably never seen before or would think of in a million years. Plays well and is an enjoyable challenge though not too difficult or memorable. The music was really irritating, and you missed pegging the door texture on the automap secret. Definitely worth a look, good quick fun blast. 4/5

Final battle was pretty tedious. Some traps had weak battles and ones that shouldn't use tough monsters, did that. Layout wise this is of course cool and non-linear, the whole thing actually is linked together and requires backtracking. I'll give this a 4/5. Quicky2 is still my favorite out of the four. - Moti

Challenging! I did it with some effort (without cheating but only excessive saving) in Slaughter mode. 5/5 - Optimus

Awesome map, but the final battle sucks. Too easy to get stuck by spiderdemon room if you're not running fast. 4/5 -playerlin

Very nice level I have to say and I like how the gameplay was. It was very action packed and awesome as a whole. Nice work. -Alando1

A fun map with lots of unusual design. There's a few tight areas where wall detail makes them more annoying than they need to, but fortunately it's nothing game-breaking.

Nice job, nice music. Managed to get through Slaughter on first run. I must admit I did IDCLIP at the soul sphere secret but that's only because I was 20 mins in and thought it was unfair (I jumped in expecting a lift). Gripes: At one point I thought I'd gone the wrong way as there were lots of monsters all facing the other way, unlucky for them. Got stuck in the detail a couple of times in the side tunnels of the spiderdemon room which was annoying. 4*

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
