32 Level Megawad for use with Doom2. Hopefully a fun packed collection of mainly small to medium sized maps.

There are a number of good maps, yet some mediocre ones as well. Yet, no level is terrible and it's a nice passtime. Generally the ratio of good maps increases as you play further.

The first 17 maps are some of the best levels to grace vanilla DOOM II (everyone should play Map17 once). Then Map18 is that horribly-designed stealth map. And then the WAD seems to run out of good ideas once it reaches Map21 (Map24 is amateurish garbage). And then Map29 & 30 are a massive spike in difficulty and are just tedious. So play the first 17 maps; the rest is optional. 3/5 - Mur

Extremely well done set of levels, I loved the first 10 especially, because they have a space station look. And one sneak level, never before experienced in DOOM!

Doom 2 Reloaded stays as one of my most replayed megawads. this megawad is very consistent through and through, and it really never gets boring thanks to its consistency. very thematic as well, and good replay value. some clever secrets too. in a way it is just another Doom 2 retelling, but with different levels and such. things are never really hard, although the concept maps can trip players up. gotta speedrun MAP09, and be stealthy and avoid monsters in MAP18, while MAP24 is a silly snake run. the secret levels are the ones you got to do the clever secrets with, with MAP32 being a true secret gauntlet. not a whole lot of moments can really be considered duds, the consistency is what really sells this megawad as good.

I do not have to wait to comment this. Comments exclusively focused on criticism so far and not signed. How dare we have to care about that? I also highly doubt that they were played normally; a fast run to find something to criticise. I currently am on level4, and it took me over an hour so far; I take the time to feel the mood, the textures and the colours. This is surely one of the most imaginative wad I played this year, if not... .

A good solid megawad. Some levels are TOUGH. High replay value.

One of the best vanilla megawads I've ever played a great mix of classic style and action-packed gameplay. Definitely check this one out.

Better than some of the 2009 Cacoward winners. Many maps didn't impress me, but they're still very solid. MAP26 is my favourite, most of the late maps are fan-tas-tic! 4/5 stars, vdgg

Played the first 6 maps. Lots of huge open areas "a lá Serious Sam". I really loved how some areas have stuff like chairs, benchs, and tables, wich makes the whole thing fell more real. There are the mentioned flaws, but at least I haven't yet seen tricks with Arch-Viles in places with no cover, like in most popular wads such HR, AV, Scytche2, etc. For what I played so far, I can say it's one of the best megawads I've seen. Highly recommended 5/5 ~ Sergeant_Mark_IV

Sadly for me, "all those moments [in game] will be lost in time like tears in rain". It is completely unexpected masterpiece from unknown author. Thanks, eschdoom!

^^Not Wolfenstein 3D? Sorry but...I just don't understand...how any part of this got associated with Wolfenstein 3D in the slightest. Anyways to the same review, I agree the early maps are a bit on the boring side but the hell maps are good, along with some later city maps, 4/5.

I'm up to map 12 so far and I love it. The above reviewer is right - no criticism comments have been made so far, so let me be the first! The new textures are mostly, if not all, remakes or mixes of various Doom 2 textures. They are all beautifully done. I have two nitpicks about this though: First, why are there at least two Arch Viles in every map except for map01? Also, this could easily use a soundtrack, too bad it doesn't. Anyway, 4.5/5 (5) from me. Recommended. - Moti

Really cool megawad, one of the best in a while. Certainly cacoaward material. Old-school dooming at it's finest. Really consistent from an atmosphere standpoint, and while the first map wasn't all that great, pretty much everything thereafter was awesome awesome awesome. Well done.

I'm up to map 13 and I think these maps are superb. When I read the games that influenced the author I immediately thought that this guy knows what makes quality. This generally has superb flow, with some slower-paced and tricky bits that are bound to annoy some people - mostly crybabies. It also seems to get better the further I get. I would describe this wad as pure FPS gaming: it has the ideal mold of detail and exciting retro gameplay. What more can I say?

Oh, yes, this is a great wad - much fun and a lot of great moments are in there. But there are also a lot of flaws, but don`t let you affect you too much about the flaws. There are also some cool new textures, and I really like the secrets! I just like more a modern art of detailing, but this is just a very fine work, thanks for the fun, AS... 4/5

Jumping Johasaphat! 96 Archviles in one map? I'm hoping this is at least in one of the final maps. If they turn up in one of the first 20 this is likely going to be way too hard for my tastes. I'll dl and give it a try later.

I disagree with the reviewer's review. 4 Stars. In my opinion, even if a P.O.S megawad has at least one gem in it, it's worth something. This megawad has quite a few gems in it, and even the bad maps were not all that bad, they were just average or "meh".

something about this wad is undeniably amazing. i cannot put my finger on it, but ive been going at it and the levels make me feel like im not just blasting my way through some random doom level in some random wad. i wasnt expecting much, i just downloaded it, now im like...damn. why didnt i play this earlier? something about it makes it a really good time. download it.

It looks amazing, but the layouts aren't very friendly for the first time players. Open areas with many snipers just makes it too difficult on UV FAST.

Really good puzzle map in a big dark metal/stone building. It catches the atmosphere of Bob Evans' Eternal Doom stuff, and I think there are even some homages to some other Eternal Doom maps as well (for example, the big two-layered outdoor area looks a bit like the "amusement park" in MAP26).   In my experience the puzzles were a bit easier than in "Silures" or "Excalibur", but it's possible that having played a lot of puzzle map stuff since I played Eternal Doom, having played through the whole canon of Bob Evans and Jim Flynn, and liking to search for Doom secrets in every map has made me recognize certain tropes better. The puzzles I liked most were (the spoilers only give minor hints):
Gameplay is good too, at the start ammo is scarce so the chainsaw and berserk are your friend, and midtiers say hello from the start on, but hitscanners are the biggest threat. Rockets should be saved for archviles until you find the first larger cache.   9,5/10

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
