About This File

After the release of "Cheogsh", the ideas of what should be included in it have appeared; and the number of those ideas was so big – that the thought of making Cheogsh 2 have appeared by itself. But initial concept of the wad, around which this wad was meant to be built, hasn’t justified itself – this has predetermined long and uneasy destiny of all project. As a result, Cheogsh 2 came out not so epic, as it was meant to be initially. But we hope despite that, this wad did not become less interesting. Thanks all who helped us while we were working on it.

To play Cheogsh 2, type the following command in Start-Run: gzdoom.exe -file cheogsh2.pk3

You also can regulate speed of messages in dialogues - T button by default. Volcanoes effects can be turned on/off by pressing U button. Also, an alternative HUD is recommended to be used. Have a good game!

Splendid. Truly splendid! I loved how the action in Map01 didn't start until later. The storyline is awesome, the defeat of delta squad was a sad thing to walk through but I was amazed by pretty much everything else. I must say that Map03 that suffers from A LOT of copy-pasting and a bunch of Archviles that I could live without. The SSG is unavailable until later, also in a secret. I'm giving this 4.5/5 (5). Awesome job! - Moti

definitely worthy of respect, all except ridiculous map01 scripting. actually 4 stars, but with -4 penalty, thanks to silent overraters.

It looks like a Christmas tree without the presents ; it's full of bright lights and colors, but gameplay is poor and so is level design. As always, the mapper tries to cram as many GZDoom features as possible for the sake of adding features, and the layouts are designed to look cool rather than to be fun to play/navigate in. Even for people who enjoy detail over gameplay, it won't be that interesting, colors/textures/ligh ts clash terribly, making it rather awful to look at. 2/5

This is indeed one of the very good ward I've played. Good story, very good architecture, atmospheric music and level design and a cool boss. Gameplay is clunky at places but well executed overall. 4.5/5 -Killer2

Legendary as it is. Don't listen to the so called "reviewer" above - he probably haven't finished it, or even - played it. Trust me, this wad is the BEST! Beta-tester of this wad, Jake Crusher

Is fun and love the new monsters to kill but it keeps crashing on the latest Gzdoom version when I try to load my savegame also noticed a crash when I beat level 1 the first time so I had to redo it and save before I exited. This might just be something wrong with Gzdoom and not your addon cause on an earlier version of Gzdoom it worked fine. Also the last time I played this I was running an older pc and it was laggy as hell. Hope the next version of Gzdoom fixes the crashes

I dunno, maybe it's fun, but it was so damn dark and I hate reading text in doom. I should be able to skip that shit. It's doom; I don't care about your stupid story, I just wanna kill shit. A pox on your creativity.

Indeed the world does! Thought I already voted on this, but... This wad is a masterpiece so I'll give it 5/5 now. Cheogsh 3 is also very good imo. Support a Cheogsh 4! 5/5

A typical G/ZDoom wad. Style over substance. Unimaginative level design, annoying cutscenes (with some hilariously poor dialogue). rips ahoy and all your favourite bestiary friends. Some aesthetically pleasing designs and acceptable music but there is little else. 3/5

5/5 Hands down the best wad I've ever played in my entire life. Each level, no, ROOM opens up into a fantastic display of scenery and structure. I cannot even began to imagine the work that was put into this. If you are a doomer, this is a must play. If you are not a doomer, why are you on this website anyways?! -Yult

With the amount of source ripping and hyperdetailed gameplayless maps, I find this to be the pinnacle (or at least the very best example) of the zdoom community.

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
