About This File

This was designed to be a difficult map. I got my inspiration for this map from maps 23-25 of Scythe2, the last episode of Scythe, The last 4 maps of AV, map14 from CC1, map32 from CC2, and map25 from CC3. I know it's a long list, but all influenced at least some aspect of the map.

A masterclass in entertaining encounters and engaging, challenging gameplay. Item and monster placement is borderline perfect.

 

Less experienced players should take advantage of the well-implemented difficulty settings - don't miss out through being stubborn if UV is too difficult for you!

Pretty darn good indeed, but I think there's a lack of ammo, this kind of gameplay and having to be careful on ammo doesn't fit together.

A really strong level. Challenging gameplay, balanced ammo and monsters, excellent progression through the map. A classic deserving of 5 stars. -TRRobin.

This is the hardest map I have played through yet! I spent around 2 hours playing, and by the end I only had about 25 minutes of actual game time. Yup, I died a lot. Great looking map and the music was nice as well. 5/5

"Legendary" in every sense of the word. Amazing map with well-implemented skill levels to appeal to a very wide range of Doom players. Incredibly well thought-out fights with a surprising amount of variety in the action despite the reliance on a few familiar monsters - geometry and layout here are brilliant. Despite the texture alignment (or lack thereof), the level also looks excellent, with a striking color scheme and amazing architecture. One of the best.

Even for a seasoned doomer, this will put some serious hair on your balls/ovaries. It's not a map with 2000+ enemies that come at you like russian conscripts with peashooters, its a map with ball-busting traps, flanks, fucks, and archvilefucks. Lots of archvilefucks. Prepare for death within a few seconds if you're using a mod with reloading(unless there's stupidly op weapons). That said, this map deserves every star it gets --- 5/5 Bukkake Windmill

I am more of a casual player (read: I suck), so I will not judge the game play, though it was fun with god mode on :P. Anyway, it is a beautiful level, both architecturally as in texturing. I would really love to see some demos though, especially pacifist or Tyson. 5/5

I like it. I like the jungle/hell theme and how the design stick together. Maybe I suck but some fights in cramped areas were quite unfair for me and Arch-villes make it even worse. :) But overall this deserves attention. 4/5 - Damned

This is dated June 2008. It's one of those ultra-hard levels in the style of Hell Revealed, whereby you save the game, fight a bit, die, reload, fight a bit more, etc. On UV I got tired of it quickly; I chickened out and played it on HMP and it was great fun. The design is classic hell-themed, surprisingly small but every step has a trap; you can cheat the final battle a bit by dropping back into the lava and waiting for the baddies to infight.

Almost unplayable on UV...but don't let that keep you from checking this out...it plays like a gem on lower skill levels. I like to see this style of mapping again...reminds me of some of the old school maps that where top notch back in the time. 4/5

      It's large 1995 map. Starting area is looking nice, but later author lost creativity and made mazy corridors. Very challenging because of overuse of chaingunners. It's extremely annoying. Lots of traps, Some clever, some not fair.

      For 95' map is really ok. A bit "blocky" design, but not bad. Map is rather big, it takes me 40min but i get lost in one place. Some good traps, IMO kinda challanging at the begining, before you get ssg. Overall good classic wad.

      Fun map that captures a nice TNT-ish feel with plenty of weird yet also nice looking rooms, groups of hitscanners and demons to blast through, and a sense of adventure to it. Taking the MAP14 slot, you would see the episode 2 skybox of TNT: Evilution and listen to the track "Cold Subtleness", both creating a nice atmosphere to the map. Worth checking out!

      Doesn't like the layout and monster replacements, I didn't found RL until got the yellow key and found a lot of rockets, the location where RL is confusing me, and it also not fun when you get kicked down from the cliffs by Revenants, Mancubus and Archviles after the way to Blue key door, the way to the teleporter just far enough to kill you if not killed by monsters which kicked you down. Final timed puzzle room just nasty as the cyberdemon and archvile fights in the same place, not sure why make the level so big but can't make the fights with them also on bigger place too?   It's not bad level but I'm sure the frustration level is sky high, and not sure the slopes from ZDooM do anything good to this level too.
