About This File

Greenwar II is the sequel to the highly-acclaimed deathmatch megawad Greenwar! The project followed the similar method of past 32in24 projects; have one team make bare layouts and then have another team detail those layouts. However in this case, all of the layouts were created by Hellbent, the author of the original Greenwar. Gameplay was preserved as faithfully as possible while also making the maps look damn sexy.

Criminally rated fair. An average DM set with many duds, p much worse than the original greenwar was. At least they are detailed well.

Nearly every map is both fun as hell and absolutely beautiful, with only very few that are either not fun or not gorgeous. The sheer quantity of great stuff here makes the few duds forgivable. Highly recommended!

Only a few maps play well, and what's with the ridiculous over detailing? Most of these maps look shit, does Essel and Mechadon even play death match? By the way his and Mechadon's maps play I guess not. Rottking's first map plays well though.

Some very nice maps in here. But it would be better if it didn't have the PLAYPAL from Simplicity. And it works relatively good with bots too.

Awesome DM maps! I'm not a big fan of deathmatch but this was excellent. Mechadon in specific is a splendid mapper. Great job, YEDS! 5* - Moti

These maps aren't "over detailed", they look damn good and play damn good. What else could a DM fanatic ask for?

Less than a week old GW2 has more reviews than 7+yr old Greenwar! Map15=best gameplay. Set gravity to 80%: jumps are easier. All maps should play well w/3 players. Please email me what maps play well or are duds! The more feedback, the better Greenwar3 will be. ;) Map36=map25 before it was detailed. I included it because map25 was altered too much when detailed. I now feel vindicated including it and map09. Special thanks to Dew for his critique of the project in its later stages! --Hellbent

I can't really rate this one its DM value because everybody around my general area is still playing dwango and GvH and Megaman DM, but I breezed through with the zcajun bots and the levels looked nice.

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
