About This File

This is a vanilla-compatible map I made to get back to the basics. You know how that goes.

the predicament at the beginning is probably the biggest issue with this wad. should you go for the room with the armor, or around the corner for the rocket launcher? regardless, prepare for the hard combat to continue throughout, but even then this one can be brute-forced pretty well, at least until the ending battle. a few really cunning traps to go through, and the secret teleporters, if you can find them, help out immensely.

One of my favourite Death-destiny's speedmap thanks to its creepy atmosphere with the music "Suspense" From Doom 1. Abyssion  mixes well the theme of Episode 2 and Episode 3  of the game. Abyssion is a challenging map , as usual with many fights involving cybies in cramped spaces . Also , take in consideration that there is no shotgun nor chaingun in this map.

way too hard level design is good but really what good is a well designed level if the player can't beat it unless they are a Doom god which I am not add 2 stars if you are

This wad is a very well detailed hell map, that is incredibly hard. There are traps around each corner, and has lots of cheap difficulty (multiple cyberdemons, tons of archeviles, revenants, and pain elementals, etc...)

I expected something harder but worst part was the beginning, once you figure it out it's "normal". Design is so-so (basic hell theme) and there were maybe two "assholish" places but other than that it was quite enjoyable.

This is one of DD's maps I enjoyed the most. Big weapons rule.

Not bad at all. This map is really hard, like all of DD's other maps. The theme was great and flowed nicely. The only weapons you get are the RL and the Plasma Rifle, and the BFG later on in the level. Don't miss the Rocket Launcher or you'll regret it later on! 4/5 - Moti

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
