About This File

It was just another day of cleaning toilets and splicing fried cables aboard UAC's shiny new space ship (with warp drive!), when a bunch of space pirates climbed out of the air vents and started slashing everyone up! Upon realizing that it might be in their interest to keep a technician around, they stop beating you and throw you in the jail.

You are not stuck in the jail for long before the ship shudders and the door opens. This is your chance to escape. But where will you go?

holy heck these are big as fuck. the adventurous side certainly is there but there really isn't enough action to satisfy me, especially on the planet hub level where I spend more than an hour playing on. also the jump pad doesn't seem to work right.

This was the first doom WAD I ever played, it took me a couple years of playing on and off to finally get through the first level and find all the secret exits (There are two, in addition to the normal exit to 'planet') I LOVE this wad, it is infinitely complex and so much effort went into the special effects and stuff. Play it, and make sure you take some time to figure things out. -Wollonof

Love the funny pun movie @ the beginning. Can't say I like to take a stroll in virtual maps. I usually leave that to the outside, artificial or natural. The one that really grills me is the endless spawning of lostsouls in map01. While I appreciate the attempt for visual vastness in aesthetics, I am sure that the virtual environment is supposed to be a bit more simplified. Anyone tried Eternity? Lag, but at least this one still works out running for me. Can't finish it, :\. ~1/5

I'm just not sure about this. I've played for a few hours, but while the levels are often beautifully designed (I really liked the spaceship you're on initially, and "Hel"), it's also a highly frustrating WAD where you never have any real idea where to go next or what switch to press next. Put another way, it just lacks a proper flow.

The best adventure pwad. It's very hard and you have to go from one side to the other. Only for adventurer players 6/5

This wad was okay. The maps were done nicely but they were way too big, especially "planet." The levels had a nice amount of detail but the gameplay was missing. The only level that faired out pretty well was the Hell level; that ran smoothly. Most of the levels you wind up going in circles and getting lost. You have a great design with the levels, but you really need to work on the gameplay a little more. Still not bad. -Alando1

This actually reminds me of some oldschool adventure games...only with rocket launchers. I mean that in a good way. Beautiful environments. Pulls you in. Very refreshing. *****

This is EXACTLY the kind of WAd I LOVE. The cutscenes are clever, the visuals are beautiful, the whole thing is frickin' HUGE. I played all the way thru to the end but man, everywhere you go you can tell there is so much more to explore. The fighting is varied - sometimes you need to mow 'em down, other times sneak by, other times run for your life. Monster placement is not especially doomish but makes sense in the context of the world. 5/5 - everyone who loves adventure WAD's should play this.

Big time quantity over quality. Huge maps, 15 of them. But gameplay is worse than awful. Boring, frustrating, you name it. Avoid this at all costs!

I bet the previous reviewer just warped through the levels and ran around with a pistol trying to find things to shoot. The levels ARE big, and require a functioning brain to find your way around, but there is a lot to be found in them. Obviously a lot of work went into making it look good. I've only made it past 2 (of 15?) levels, but so far I'm impressed.

Ultimately, I ended up liking it, at least the main part of the quest (the 'Planet' hub), anyway. It's less offputtingly sarcastic in tone than Crapi, and the player's goals are much more intuitively obvious, as well, though they still tend to require a heavy amount of legwork and downtime given the cyclopean scale of the environs. It's slow to start, but stick with it and it eventually becomes just as rewarding as some of the more popular PWADs in the style (e.g. Phocas 2). --TDotW

Epic wad ever, but I think it need some f***ing walkthrough for some player can't find how to beat this wad. I give up on MAP05(Planet) after I found 3 of orbs and all secrets, but I can't found yellow skull(and I get 2 more red skulls, WTF?), still don't know where to go. I like and want to finished this but I don't want to waste all my time just find how to finish. It should be more prompt player about "How to I do next?" 4.5/5 -playerlin

This wad has good design and a bit of humor. Although it lacks ammo. 4/5 ~Joe Anderson

Junko. Crapi. Coincidence? I think not. I remember not liking Crapi at all, being all dull and full of empty maps. I was sensing something like this until I was sure this is it once I reached the map 'Planet'. This wad is done much more beautifully and cleverly, still has you screaming for ammo though... I enjoyed this much more. These maps might take hours to finish and you WILL get lost, so if you don't like extremely non-linear maps, this is not for you. 3.5 (4)/5 - Moti

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
