This wad is from 2004, but it feels like 1994. It's very pure, straightforward and overall quite easy, except for the map by Kristian Aro (E2M9). Authentic Doom style also with regards to gameplay and monsters, where the Baron is the hardest of the first episode. The rest is mostly Zombies, Demons and Imps. It has a nice feeling but I missed some more challenging situations. 3/5 -Milian

I'll give it 3 stars for the excellent map design and nostalgic feel of the levels. But as others have said it's too easy(as is Knee Deep In The Dead). Still excellect job for what you were trying to accomplish.

Another excellent mapset from pcorf and Nebula. Very reminiscent of Doom's episode 1. I can't wait for the Episode 2 replacement.

Just randomly cut and pasted bits from episode 1, pretty lazy.

Pretty smooth and fun, and a great recreation of episode one with only one snag: the original was more atmospheric than this.

Still 5/5, even if that visplane overflow bug didn't get fixed yet. What a pity.

I suppose Paul Corfiatis really likes Knee-Deep in the Dead. I mean, there was also some scene in 2002ADO's E3M7. However, nice work, deserves 10 stars out of five ^^

Awesome wad! Even if there is a "visplane overflow" bug in E1M1 after you take the stairs to the left in Vanilla Doom 1.9! 5/5 anyway!

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
