About This File

A large single player level for Strife. Features an mp3 soundtrack written specifically for it (a high quality download of which can be found on the DW forums post http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/48920-a-world-in-strife-raiding-the-dam/). No real story or npc interaction other than some vendors, just a new part of the strife world to explore.

Strife wads are incredibly rare - there are exactly four I can recommend, including this one, two more single maps by Kaiser, and this author's own hub (Absolute Order). Which makes it stand out even more, so props to the author, perhaps the best single Strife map ever made.

With so few Strife maps around, one could give high rating to any released map. But this is really one solid masterpiece. Man, it's doubtlessly 5 stars - legendary.

Excellent job, Awesome details and stuff. Though, why there is SO HEAVY musics, MP3 SOUNDTRACKS? You could use Midi`s not to make the wad so big, and make there more other stuff, like new monsters or weapons. But very good job, Make more STRIFE. -Archfile 4/5

Once I started playing this, I couldn't stop. It does serves as a condensed, more action packed retelling of Strife. I swear the design is indistinguishable from what a studio might produce! Also couldn't help to admire the retro scfi music in this. Excellent work as always! -FoH 5/5

FINALLY! A Strife wad. These ones are rare. Works with Skulltag. Buggy? Whatever. If it's a wad, it's a wad.

Very good, but it could use a few more med patches near the start. The music fits, and the majority of the map looks like it could actually fit in on a tangent level from the order commons.

A very good Strife map. The music complements the level well, and it feels very true to the original despite the fact that it plays nothing like it. 5/5 just because no one ever makes good Strife maps.

John Romero should either sue you or hire you. I vote for the latter.

A great map on its own, and wonderful that at least someone is releasing Strife PWADs! As others have said, mirrors the style of the originals very well and extends the difficulty level quite alot. Very creative encounters which usually can be attacked from a few different ways. Definitely keep an eye on the ammo, there's enough but only just. A joy to play, please release more. 5/5 j

Awesome, gameplay wise a more doom oriented level than the original strife, but still quite challenging, especially the first battle with an inquisitor. It's also very unlinear even without having a hub. you can easily miss some parts of the map! What I'd like to see are the bosses being used as a more common enemy in future strife pwads. They are extremely weak against your weaponry (lol 1 hit mauler) compared to other doom engine games.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
