About This File

This is an eight map series for Doom 2 using ZDoom (or a related engine such as Skulltag).

::STORY::

Somewhere between defeating the Icon of Sin and going on your Final Doom mission, UAC calls upon you to investigate a new threat.

Remaining on Earth, they teleport you to your starting location Gateway. You are directed to head to the Caco Caverns and find the source of the problem.

Full Story will be in download.

::Other::

This map series is to bring back the classic feel of Doom. The 1995 feeling is the goal with this series and I hope you enjoy it. -Ryan Albright

TERRIBLE maps, but at least some zdoom features implemented. Map01 is literally all GSTONE textures... with some fog. It reminds me of that joke wad where there was a well done bridge over a shitty map, this would be a legitimate replacement. Maps are lackluster and boring. Such a long build time for such boxy rooms.

Well given that it was intentionally designed to be like old levels, it's not bad at all. In fact it's kinda fun for the most part, though UV is the recommended difficulty, anything else and it's ridiculously easy. Not really much above average, but worth a go. 3 stars, but actually just over that.

LAWL, When making a wad, you don't have to include every GODdamn resource from the original Doom wads. Thanks for wasting my time while I was skimming your wad for resources, jerk.

Good idea, but I think you should still work on this. The levels are pretty plain-looking and boxy, and suffering from green marble overload; some of the traps don't work, and gameplay often boils down to just "find a key, open a door, find the next key behind it", too. "lackluster", as the previous reviewer said, definitely sums it up well. I think you've definitely got potential as a mapper, but you're only at the start of your journey. :) That said, keep it up!

This wad is illegal, as it contains all the resource from both the Doom and Doom2 Iwad!

I don't like this wad because of the appearance. Next time you create a doom wad please look at the "Plutonia 2" doom wad and make something out of it. So far, you made a good start, but you need more skill for good maps!

Decent map, Just what I was looking for at the moment. A simple, classic map.

a little cramped and heavy on the ammo, but aside from that everything is rather well done, and the new monsters that randomly appear make it very exiting 4/5 -R0bo-KY

Hey, that wasn't bad at all. I didn't bother checking for illegal issues, the gameplay was solid enough. Mostly too easy, but it had it's moments (Chaingunner line-up at Map02 surprisingly killed me). Needs a bit balancing though, the Overlord boss is way tougher than the Diabolist, which I've taken down with 1 straight BFG shot. Overall, this wad is fun enough to keep you playing, and on your toes, too. 4/5 - Moti

Pretty good. The later maps kept me on edge. I only died on map 7: after wiping out the masses of archies, I had a cyberdemon, I thought big deal, but it turned out one more of the archviles were still alive, and so kaput! (oh and I was out of BFG ammo) I think the maps had too many square rooms, but otherwise it was fun.

      It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

      What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?

      thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

      Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

      A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.
