About This File

A moderately sized and difficult map set in the 'slums' of the underworld, featuring plenty of brick, marble, and hell. No rocket launcher or BFG. Was initially going to be for the Ruins of Hell project.

Not a very bad map, not even a very difficult one but... Gameplay may be tedious after the beginning part due to the fact there isn't so much ammo scattered around... You'll be able to find more stuff later. 3/5 overall

Pretty good map, although not too hard some of the traps were a real bastard. Possible to outrun some of the monsters that become trapped due to the blood river, also evaded the cybers easily :P Map looks very basic although nice texture usage, could have benifited from a new sky and music. 3/5

I have a soft spot for maps that manage to be good without being great. :P 3/5 --Sonny

Pretty damn bad. Try harder next time to not put a decoration every six inches to stop you so a monster can kill you.

This really needed a hell sky to complete the mood. Also detracting were the "5-skull shish kebob" decorations in the cyber arena, which kept tripping me up (although not killing me). Nice classical map all the same though - plenty of ammo and health to keep you through. 3* -Phobus

Not bad. The item placement was curious because weapons were often in small uninhabited rooms, but overall the UV difficulty seemed fine and not harsh, tending toward mild. The impaled heads at the end aren't really a problem (as some say) and even allow one to control the cyberdemons a bit more. [3/5] ~Chain Mail (02/2011)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
