About This File

Here you step into hell and your first obstacle is a large chapel presumably built as a staging point for invading Earth. Proceed through and kill everything that is opposing so you can move on with your main mission.

This map will only run on Boom compatible sourceports due to the use of generalized linedef actions and sector types.

Nice layout, and the gameplay was decent as well. The flow wasn't all that great, though. Considering the talent of the authors, a good map is to be expected, and that's basically what you get. Still, a bit more tweaking and this could've been a classic.

One of the most satisfying levels I've played in a long time. Outstanding ambiance, smart design, and appropriate difficulty. I'm shocked and dismayed that this is standing at 3/5! This is phenomenal!! Reading the other comments, it appears to me that everyone else is mentally challenged :) FIVE OUT OF FIVE.

Basically solid level with quite a few minor flaws, most of them mentioned above. @ UV there is more than enough ammo and sufficient health, and gameplay is absolutely not too difficult - except for the end battle: 4 arch-viles in that overcrowded area is imo overdone. Overall: 3.5/5.

THIS...this is why I don't go to church! Nice variety of architecture[2 mappers-to be expected]that meshes well together. Some really nice[?] battles and fights make for an entertaining and enjoyable 30 min. or so of DooM action.Also,IDCLEV21 before someone complains the they can't play it 'cause they didn't read the text-file.4/5-d.d.ko op

No complaints but only 4/5? Seems odd. Anyways, I can echo that review but give the logical 5/5.

This was fun to play. I never felt lost nor was I ever completely out of ammo. 4/5

The gameplay and flow was ruined by the so called "atmosphere" you were trying to portray here. Level looks pretty cool though. Most of the big encounters consisted of just traps which gets old after a while. Definitely not a bad effort though.

Sucks. If you're going to have a squad of chaingunners aambush you, at least out some sort of health. Also lack of ammo. Yes, I enjoy fisting to death a revenant as much as the next guy. You're fucked unless you sr50 run over the ledge to grab the dead chaingunner's chaingun. Even then, it's a lack of health. 2. ~That guy over there

This wad is good as hell, but not awesome, switch/key hunting are boring, but it still OK. Hmm...I have only a small stupid/useless complain : the last battle a little too hard, and the BFG9000 secret is a little boring too. 3.5/5 -playerlin

Actually the looking around didn't bother me. A nice map overall.

This was very annoying to play. I never knew where to go! Switch hunts, key hunts and it was never clear where to go next. Also lots of dead ends. Why is that necessary? I've played 1995 maps with more fluid gameplay. Also every sector in this entire map is covered in the same green bricks! Nothing stood out, so I wandered around and didn't even notice entrances or important locations, because all is the same texture. Annoying! NOTE TO CREATORS: DOOM HAS MORE TEXTURES BESIDES GSTONE1!!! 2/5 for effort

thank god Underhalls was the map that followed this mod as that level was able to remind me what actually competent level design looks like.

Not that bad, even kind of interesting find the secrets in the map! But yeah, that switches jungle is a awful choice really.

A basic and nice looking showroom type of map where monsters are trapped inside glass prisons, no exit and no way to play this with any modern source Port like DSDA-Doom and GZDoom, but works really well in Crispy Doom. It was a pleasant experience.

Conceptually not bad, it's a pretty imposing tower with some decent lighting, but no ammo at all despite having the guns and a VERY obscure way to rise up the floor in the lava pit? That's a big downer. But overall, it's ok.

Well, the map is pretty basic. The map is quite challenging, with there being 0 ammo pickups (excluding the backpack) outside of the starting room. There are also nazis for some reason. I will give it 2 stars only because this really wasn't meant to be played to be enjoyed, but rather just a example of how to build a map in DEU.
