About This File

Six EXCELLENT maps for Doom 2, ranging from Romero-esque E1MX levels to very unique hellish levels, ending in an exhilarating and intense battle with a new boss monster, created by me in DECORATE. A sure contender for best WAD of the year.

vilefurry, hahahaha. really not a fun set of maps, very simplistic while adding arch-viles in all the wrong placements. author tries to put an interesting boss map in but it's not really a fun one either.

Definitely not cacoward material, AT ALL. But there are some points for making effort. Out of the plethora of 'vile' wads, this one is the least presentable, but nothing to stay awake over.

"A sure contender for best WAD of the year." Even if this was solid gold, I couldn't possibly rate it due to this snobbery. When I first started, I knew my maps weren't amazing and I didn't fool myself into thinking they were.

Hopefully this was an early map by this particular author. It's extremely basic and easy, and I have to admit I don't think I've had to punch too many Arch-Viles to death in my Dooming career. I did like the boss battle though, and I'm hoping the maker of this wad has improved his skills since this. 2 stars. - Obsidian

A plain mapset, not bad... but just a little boring and...too many ammo. 2.5/5 -playerlin

Average cramped, one texture, no height variation, walk from point A to point B most people make when starting mapping. It won't kill you to play it, but it's nothing we haven't seen one thousand times before. 2/5

These maps are actually quite fun even if they're bland and having little height variation. 4/5

It's good fun, but I don't know about a cacoaward. There are a lot of geniuses here. Thanks.

'EXCELLENT' maps?? Best wad of the year??? No way. Architecture is very simple, gameplay is far below average, and I have not seen such a thing as an interesting motive. In other words: this wad did not surprise me in even one single positive way, which is obviously one of the most basic aspects of a so-called 'excellent' wad. Sorry if you don't like my opinion, but if you classify your wad as 'excellent', then expect a review related to that classification. 2/5 for the effort.

Really good, quite unique maps. Each map does have its own personality, and it does feature stuff not seen in any other WAD. But it could be better, with more height and lighting variation. 4/5

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
