About This File

This is a rework of the classic first level of Wolfenstein 3D. (e.g You've been captured. You start out in a dungeon cell, next to the still warm corpse of a guard. However, this time it's a key instead of a gun that you start with. (Made more sense.) From there, it plays like WOLF3D. (I hope.) One thing to keep in mind, however: If you're playing cooperative mode, you're the only one with a key, so you really should let your buds out. :-)

--> Please play through on one of the other skill levels (preferably 'Bring em on') before playing through on Ultra-Violence. The lower skill levels are the Wolf tribute, and UV is my... twist on it. :^) Good luck, and I'd appreciate it if you'd drop me a line with any comments.

A simple map, not particularly bad, not particularly good. Its most notable feature is that it plays quite differently on UV and on lower skill. More of nostalgic value than a challenge. Forgot to put my nym into the Uploaded By section, the 100% kills/secrets demos (UV and HMP) are on DSDA. - N_A

I died several times in fda on uv -fast. Not bad level for '94.

I wasn't too engaged by this. Even on uv it's ridiculously easy. The beginning sections rather reminded me of map 31. But nice effort.

Very well done considering it's from June 1994. If you play this recklessly you'll have a hard time with all those hitscanners. I hope a speedrunner gives this map a try cause it's worth it. Who uploaded this? Pretty darn good, coldfusio.

The first exit button just ends the level, except if you play in UV level. How can difficulty settings change the action of a linedef? Gotta check this in a map editor. Then, if I had missed the UV thing I wouldn't be thrilled, but the twist is nice. First time I didn't played UV and thought, that's it? While screenshots told me else. 4/5 - Optimus

A so-so, 1994 level, a little easy in UV but it's 1994, maybe not really easy. And I like the author's trick for lower difficultly, using things that in sector 58 to block the way, make sure player to trigger Line #621, it will lower Sector #131 for the second exit switch in lower difficultly. Whooa, cool! :D 3.5/5 -playerlin

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.

What the actual f*ck is this map. I love having 4 rockets, a shit ton of bullets and like 10 shotgun shells to take out a revenant, and whatever was in that cage. Doesn't look too bad, maybe this negativity is cus im no expert, also rather unskilled at the game?
