Just what I've come to expect from 40oz, a relatively small but well done level. His maps need more stars than they have overall in my opinion (example, 3 stars on vmap40.wad? I think that deserves at least 4 easily). An underpraised mapper indeed.

Yay, birthday cake time! A really good map, again. My only criticism is that it's ridiculously easy (I only got hit once and, yes, I like to brag during people's birthday).

I finished the map with exactly 1 shotgun shell left...and I didn't even get 100 percent kills:( 4/5

You know... birthday map. Good techbase style map. Short, simple, nice excess in ammo... Um, blah blah blah.

The roof feels like it scrapes your head sometimes, and the map feels more jammed then flowing. Average at best.

A good map, nothing special. I'm fun when playing it and it's not a bad for a birthday map. Oh, maybe something in it doesn't not work fine on G/ZDooM because I ran out of ammo and some enemies I didn't killed in UV... 4/5 -playerlin

Making so many birthday maps makes you look like a whore.

Much as I'd expect from 40oz at this point. If he'd release a mapset of this quality it'd be great. Fun, easy, couple of nice touches, looks and sounds good. 4* -Phobus

I will give you 4 out of 5 my friend. Nice little easy level that I didn't want to end. 1-30-11

5-minutes wad. Solid but not spectacular architecture. Gameplay @ UV is well balanced but nothing special, only basic tactics are necessary to complete it. Very (imo too) much ammo and health makes it even easier. 3.5/5 instead of 4/5 because it is very short and UV is way to easy. As this wad shows potential, I'm curious for a follower.

Great map, but you probably could have crammed another secret in somewhere.

I still can't believe you can make such good looking maps in such a small time. Bastard! :)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
