About This File

A very large multi-themed cavern. The map focuses on tough, action packed fights rather than insane amounts of detail and eye candy. I decided to use nothing but vanilla doom 2 resources to keep it old school, but the massive size of the map may keep it from running properly in vanilla. This is my first map ever for Doom 2.

Story: You wake up in a pool of blood, your whole body aches, and you have no recollection of where you are. A strong, musty odor fills your sense of smell as you quickly realize that everything seems just all too familiar. As you reach for you sidearm, you feel a sense of deja vu. You know something is hiding in this cave, something evil. The same evil you have faced countless times. The only thing you can't seem to figure out is.......how did you even get here???

It's a little tight at the beginning, but it opens up after not too long. And the pace is a little slow at the beginning too, but it picks up once you get the SSG, which isn't too far in. I think it's a decent map.

I would rename this cramped cave. As in menstrual cramps. It's tight and visually comatose and narrow and just unfun. Maybe if I enjoyed hiding in a crawlspace this would be fun but I found it wretched.

It's DooM 2 wad, so I have no idea why player must fighting shitload of Hell Knights & Hell Barons & cacodemons with a damned SHOTGUN in those fucking cramped cave, and spectres are kicking your ass because you and those monsters are stick together as do *******!? That's bullshit! I can't beat this shit without cheats even on 2nd/3rd difficultly, I can cheat, but it just boring...it should be better but totally ruined... 1.5/5 -playerlin

Despite being supposedly limit removing, it's shock full of ZDoomisms that will severely mess the balance - or perhaps I should say, mess it further than it is already. Very bland architecture in which you get to fight a bunch of cacos, hellknights and barons with a shotgun. Move on to find a horde of spectres and infinitelytall cacodemons swarming you. Playing extremely slow might work, but chances are you can pick any random wad from '94 and have a better experience.

This ain't a original map. This map originated from the chillax map mod. ~1/5 for ripping designs to something much worse.

^ I find that hard to believe since chillax ripped off other people's maps

This map should give you a reward if you finish (w/o cheating). You can really tolerate boredom then.

Hi, I'm the author of this wad. In no way did I rip off any other map. I have never even heard of chillax. If anything, later parts of the map were inspired by Drown in Blood and other slaughter wads, but nothing was stolen from other authors. As for the map, I know it starts out cramped and not too pretty. This was my very first attempt in Doom Builder so it isn't anything special. However, the map does get more interesting and complex as you progress.

Nice try... but kind-of unplayable AFAICS. First post sums it up really. Good luck next time ;)

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
