liked it better than Putrefier upon a second playthrough, base is smaller and it's a little less harder to get lost. Ed's gameplay style is quite difficult to muster, having to attack enemies just as they warp in and there's quite a lot in many places. the feel is atmospheric and nasty which is pretty good too, and it's a lot shorter than I first thought.

Played in software rendering mode.  This is the first horror themed map that ever made me truly feel the horror atmosphere, mainly because of the music and software rendering.  Very good.

Valhalla is a dark industrial techbase level that almost immediately sucked me in with its bleak atmosphere and amazing ambient music. Gameplay wise this level isn't too complex with its rather simple monster encounters that in a few spots provided a fair challenge for me on Ultra Violence. My only issues with Valhalla is that there are a few spots where the detailing can impede movement and cause pressing a necessary switch to be awkward.

This feels like the first level to a really awesome Q2 or Sin-era game. It is really gorgeous. The combat is somewhat conservative and often easy to keep at a safe distance. Some of the routing is a tad tricky but nowhere near the Eternal Doom end of the spectrum.

In terms of gameplay, level wise: The levels are complex, but they never get too convoluted. Once you figure out where the various key-switches are it simply becomes a matter of remembering how to get there. In terms of gameplay, enemy wise: Enjoy being fucked in the asshole with a porcupine. In conclusion, if you like well made maps that you'll probably never get to see legitimately cause you never survive that long, this is the wad for you.

Okay, this looks like an earlier version of Putrefier, and they really doesn't alter that much - same map layout, poor monster fighting, though this version doesn't have bad map navigation, so overall I'll rate this higher than Putrefier

Clearly Ed Cripps put a lot of effort into this level but there are some issues. A big plus is that there is a decent weapon provided from the start so there is no tedious monster tickling that is very common in other wads. Also it provides a lot of murder opportunities (a plus too). Unfortunately the layout can be confusing at times (but sometimes monsters point you at the right direction) and the switches are so tiny. Then it ends abruptly. It deserves 3.5 but I round it down to 3. - Zalewa.

Pretty good, but it has a lot of door hunting and stuff like that. Great deco, bland gameplay, and boring level design. Kept me busy at least. 3.5/5

One of the best Zdoom maps I've ever played. Beautiful architecture, very detailed and had one hell of an atmosphere. The only downside, was a little too easy, even on UV. Definitely want to see more maps from you. Keep up the awesome work. 5/5 from me.

Simply an amazing level, with great texturing and great lighting. the The only disappointing thing about it was the length, and the difficulty. It was way to easy (due to the presence of almost every weapon), and somewhat short. It was definitely worth playing through. I hope that you continue to make maps, because this is awesome.

Great level! Good detailing and atmosphere, and I like the music and ruined city in the background. It's fairly linear, but it doesn't feel forced. The monsters are well placed and make for good fights in the space. Best new level I've played in a while.-GreazyShorts

A very interesting and atmosphering map. Gameplay was a bit bland, I was disappointed at the lack of a final boss. It kept me interested for a while and it was quite enjoyable, but there's still something I found nit-picky about this. Nevertheless, this should'nt be skipped. 4/5 - Moti

Looks awesome, yet it is not the only thing that make a level awesome. The gameplay is slow(er), not very exciting and pretty easy. 4/5.

Visually perfect, this method lacks durability and surprises. + The graphics are gorgeous + The atmosphere is great + The level is well built - THE level - No true final boss - Nothing very exciting in the progression, the rhythm is always the same 4/5*

Nice level, but a little confusing in the manor of KDIZD, and no really inspiring moments.

As previous reviewers have stated, visually, this is a stunning level with fairly good game-play. My only gripe - although this will not detract from the overall score - is; one Ravenant does not tele-port in and thus 100% kills is not possible (UV -fast). Keep 'em comin' Ed! 5/5

Very nice. More ZDoom maps should be like this only perhaps a bit harder. Go play Raven Crypt Zalewa.

Wow, detail unlike any other wad and perfect game dynamics (perfect health/difficulty/mo nster placement). If you like detail, you will enjoy every *second* of this wad. First 5/5 I've given in years.

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
