Can't fault the layouts at all, but the constant use of Revenants and inexplicably cheap encounters quickly turns this one into a chore. 3/5

Great Atmosphere. A challenging and gripping wad that pulls you in and doesn't let you go. 5/5

A bit too much of switch hunting at times, but the levels are good.

Great job, too bad you have to noclip to beat map 14. What was up with those silly elemental symbols that didn't do anything? Also didn't appreciate how monsters were constantly appearing in front, behind, above and below me out of nowhere for no discernible reason. Annoying. 5 stars -2 = 3 stars from me. -wavelength

Does not measure up to the greatness of Epic 1. Architecture is improved, but gameplay is so-so, ranging from obnoxious cheap ambushes in the early maps to tedious slaughtermaps to sprawling, head-smashingly complicated Eternal Doom-style maps (map28 appears to be a remake of The Dark Dome from Eternal Doom, only with the switches even harder to find). Also it's just too damn long for the themes and ideas it presents. 3/5 --Woolie

EPIC as hell. I should give it 5 but due I got boring totally on later huge killing levels(Map26-29),tha t's just shame but maybe it's my problem... :p But this shit still a masterpiece...yeah, it is definitely. 4.5/5 -playerlin (Well, it still a 5 due the voting system of doomworld! XD)

One of the very very best mega WADs I've seen so far, and I've played hundreds of levels at least. All new textured, the egyptian and alien themes make the feeling within the levels so different. And the author used some cool tweaks within the DOOM engine to create wonderful architecture. Only the last 2 levels (#29 + #30) are too monster loaded so I skipped them.

I got bored. The gameplay is boring and the texture usage is bland. The adventure/puzzle elements only make it more boring.

oh yeah, played UV with prboom-gl -turbo 255. It is probably very much more lethal without the turbo, what with all the rockets, revenant and vile blasts...

OMG, my favorite mapper delivers once again! The opening of level one Just says it all, doesn't it? The atmosphere is so incredible, the placement of everything - including the vases - is impeccable. The pacing is masterful - fast and slow - the battles are surprising, the rooms are varied. And I've only played the first two levels - can't wait to go further! Just wow, wow, wow, wow, and I'm a harder critic than most people. Thank you very much and best wishes. 6/5.

Loved it. Absolutely one of my top five favorite megawads. If you're a seasoned doom veteran and know how to strafe you'll be fine. Just have quicksave handy. The level architecture is gorgeous, no lying. 5 out of 5 stars!

In my opinion this is actually more fun if you use the ZDaemon survival server and maybe get another player or two to come along as regenerating items really does some work in fixing the frustrating gameplay elements. 3.5/5 in solo and 4.25/5 on ZDaemon Survival servers = 3.875/5 rounded up to 4/5 overall. BTW today's the 1 year anniversary of the first release and I wonder if Eternal will pump out his western themed project to mark it! Nov 23, 2011 - MegaDoomer

Fuck yeah, this wad is an atmospheric masterpiece! Best DooM 2 wad released this year for sure. Gameplay is challenging as hell and starts getting insane on UV in the last few levels. So HMP is reccommended for casual DooMers. Anyway, 5/5 from me. - DeathevokatioN

Interesting gameplay but a serious lack of ammo, at least in the first levels. I ran out at lvl 4 or 5.

Wow! One of the best wads this year definitely. Up there with Speed of Doom. Atmosphere is great (which I was worried I wouldn't like), difficulty is high, plays a bit like plutonia (except for the last few maps, they're like Hell Revealed). Anyway, 5 stars from me for making me use actual strategy to get through fights. -DH85

Not as good as his more abstract works (eden.wad or Thirty two inch nails...or Hellground) but still a great set.4/5

One of the classic megawads, and the successor to TNT Evilution. I've played this several times over the years, and its grown on me more with each play as my tastes mature.   Still has a bunch of maps that got me killed in 2024, after ive finished stuff like HR and AV, and plenty of maps are memorable. Only real downsides is some of the levels have little content, showing its age.

One of the earliest Doom user maps and It shows. Despite the raw and empty design, the author take a good use of 3D space creating a small fortress surrounded by mountains, the level Is fun to play and not hard. A fancy escapade and a piece of modding history.

Third and final released map of a WIP episode by David Rager, it's more long, complex and hard than the previous entries in the series. A well made map with pretty challenging parts with a mix of monster usage, envoirnmental hazards and some puzzle gameplay. Fun but pretty harsh.

Two more misplaced DM maps without a exit like QUDOOM (that at least had a exit room, while not functional) that caught me by their file name and leave me for the bad experience in SP. Chicken is just a long bridge between a thundering abyss where cyberdemons wants to destroy you, meh. Gangstar is a more fun map sets in a big, abstract warehouse where a cyberdemon roam free trying to kill you, shotgunners and lost souls are here in this Hell corner adding more pain to the thing, enforced by semi-hidden mazes, my favorite.

This is like the physical version of the "we have X at home" meme in DM map format for Quake E1M1. Very poorly made, broken exit and missing textures here and there but at least the level KINDA resembles the original source somehow.
