About This File

There aren't many maps that focus on the chaingun, so I made this. A small-ish key hunt in Hell, with scarce supplies and no shotguns or plasma weaponry. You don't need to grab them in any order. The final challenge is right in front of you when you start; don't waste your ammo, or be prepared to make a break for it. A note: this isn't Pacifist compatible.

I totally agree with the third reviewer. When I met mancubi i had 150 bullets and 3 rockets. And I had to use IDCLIP to get in the archvile trap.

For a "scrooge" type of map, this wasn't particularly hard. As long as you can spare 100 bullets for the end, it's perfectly winnable. I literally didn't fire a single bullet until I was in the archvile cage (used the chainsaw though) and then only because I didn't want to waste the pickup. The lava pit fight was just running and letting the baddies sort it out amon themselves. Also, it was possible to break the archvile fight by simply approaching too slowly. Anyway, it was a fun short map. 3/5 -Maes

As somebody who's also made a map which focussed heavily on the chaingun and rocket launcher, I was quite intruiged to see how this one played. Quite tight, I thought. It seemed quite luck-based to me, however, as enemies like the Baron of Hell cause a wide range of damage, meaning I was once unfortunately two-shotted, but the rest of the playthrough seemed really easy. Nice effect with the subtle red light outside too! 3* -Phobus

decent, but 5 stars if they have more ammo. I constantly ran out and had to chainsaw BOTH mancubi with 2 health points left. And on top of that, I had to chainsaw that damn revenant. If this is what you intended, pretty good, could be better though.

To the first reviewer, you need better ammo management. I had enough rockets left over to take care of those mancubi. Short fun map, I liked how the keycards were dealt with. More mappers should do it like that.

Cool, but the yellow key trap is bugged when I play it, it close too early before I go in and I'm outside of the trap, make I cannot get the yellow key(like Maes said, I go slowly and it blocked me). And it's not a good wad for shooting wildly, I don't like it but it's not bad. 4/5 -playerlin

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
