About This File

As the name suggests it's something familiar. I guess you'll find out soon enough. Be careful, there are lots of monsters and it's huge map with 2007 things.. 666 monsters and some lost souls! And as it's a long level, you may want to use IDMUS** cheat/command when the current song starts to bore you... It may take some hour or more to complete...

A really tough challenge with familiar layouts. 4 stars + 1 star because of the moron up above.

Great map!, also check out the Map32 in the version of Eviltech PRIMEVAL uploaded, it's another great classic Doom homage! (http://www.doomworl d.com/vb/wads-mods/5 8351-eviltech-new-me gawad-with-34-maps-r eleased/3/)

Felt like I was playing the original Doom, all mashed up together into one giant level. However, the texturing could be a little more interesting than browns and reds and the occasional green marble. More true Doom1 tech areas could have helped that.

This is dated December 2010. You fight 700+ baddies in a map that cleverly weaves design cues from the original E1-E3 (wonky textures and all). Starts off a bit dull, but ramps up quickly, turning into a BFG/plasma/rocket-fe st about half-way through. Kudos for making E3M9 interesting. Odd quirks - tonnes of backpacks, you get the double shotgun three times in a few minutes, occasionally switch-hunty, does get a bit formulaic. But good fun, very meaty.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
