About This File

Episode 2 themed techbase level without hell's corruption, hence the name "immaculated"

I've tried to emulate the great work of Tom Hall and Sandy Petersen in shores of hell with a personal touch.

I've always thought that fortress of mistery was just plain hell and I've felt the need of making an apropriate secret level for shores of hell following its theme.

In desing map10, refueling base of Doom II would have fit very well as a E2M9 level if they wouldn't have rejected and reused it for Doom II

This is a true E2 level, with lots of ick, shawn, compohso, cement and vine textures and it has an organic and non linear desing as well as a good interconnection.

It's doable form pistol start, but you better run and get the chainsaw :)

A large map which emulates the E2 style very well. Took me over an hour to beat, and not on the first try. A bit simplistic when compared to the author's latter work, but still good. Lighting excellent, though the map may be too sprawling to fit with E2M9's track. Unfortunately not compatible with the original .exe or the chocolate derivate (texture errors and non-lowering lifts which are required to progress).

Its a really well designed map, and i really enjoyed doing the first few rooms. Unfortunately, I had to stop because theres just not enough ammo. Just a tip, Nicolas, when you put someone up against a cacodemon in the first room, as well as packs of 5 or more demons/spectres, A pack of 20 shotgun shells here and there aren't going to last long.

This is a fine map, really you just have to use the chainsaw. Here's a word to take note of: if you can fight safely with the chainsaw, then do it.

That's a map made me hate DooM 1 again. Well, I'm not really hate all of DooM 1, but I hate "using a shotgun and shitload of shotgun shells to deal with shitload of monsters" style of map, even original id maps. Yeah, I know chainsaw but it doesn't work for me when there is so many cacodemons/lost soul in the map. I give up after killed 700 monsters. I know it's a good classic map but I just hate that. 3.5/5 -playerlin

Really great old-style map, reminds me of "wonderful doom" and "needs more detail". Even then, there are a few problems like with ammo/monster balance. I think it's funny that you would say tom hall had a hand in designing the doom levels, his original levels were either scrapped entirely or raped into oblivion and he was later fired during production of doom 2 because he didn't like that.

It's a perfectly fine map and all, just chainsaw-haters should avoid. Expect not to get through without plenty of use of it.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
