This guy did an entire castle series. I've only found 2, 4, 5, 7, and 9 but everyone is pretty much forgettable. It's very "my first map" feel and I know this is 1995-1996, but they're still pretty shitty even by those standards. This guy really likes AD&D and it shows since all of his maps are essentially mazes and finding necessary secrets to finish these maps. If you're into MUDs, the Phantasy Star mazes, or the AD&D FPS crawlers this might do it for you if it wasn't so bland with repeating textures.

Passable if you're hungry for more Heretic but there are much better maps out there. The design here is fairly oldschool and basic, with a lot of right angles, but not too unattractive. On the bad side, though, the titular "Combat" is lacking: the level is pretty easy, with a surplus of supplies even on the hardest level. The key doors lack key markers and finding secrets is mandatory.

Annoying that so many secrets are necessary to finish it

Classic good shitty 199x map, it's easy but feels like in Dungeons. Too many ammo for killing monsters, it's the only downside. Worth to play but don't except too many, it's just a oldschool shitty user map at all. :p 2.5/5 -playerlin

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
