If The Room was a Doom .wad, it would be this.

This wad has some fucking horribly overscaled maps and has mostly flat areas. Most parts are best described as boxy and repetitive and it drowns the player in Cyberdemons commonly. Oh yeah, also there being a key required to continue by going in a basically 0 brightness corridor - that being in the first map alone. I'd probably mistake this for being a wad made in 1994, but no, it's made in 2011.

Better play Wolfenstein 3D with keyboard only, thousand times in a row.

Horrible and unenjoyable, it's what I can say about this megawad.  Does it really need to be archviles and cyberdemons in every corner and tight corridors, ambushing with nowhere to go?  Yes, textures are very monotonous, and you got corridor after corridor with same floor/ceiling height.  It's extremely annoying to hunt for that switch that will let you continue, and, surprise!  They're hidden inside the walls without being secrets and no hints where to look for, even with ALLMAP cheat you get lost very easily

Talk about too many cyberdemons, pretty much an intense wad to me

undeniably the worst wad I have ever played. at no time is this fun, full orthogonal structures with monotonous texturing and puzzle-like gameplay. even worse is the combat, where you often fight cyberdemons in very tight and unfair spaces. one of the maps even has invisible crushers. avoid this at all costs

His urge to use every style of enemy in every map makes for a difficult and unenjoyable experience. The texture work in this pile of shit is god awful. In one of the maps, he used a texture of a door as the wall. What the fuck? And there's little to no ceiling or floor height changes. Very monotone and boring. Sectors with simple enemies are huge, and sectors with huge enemies are tiny. Absolutely terrible. Not worth wasting the 466 KB on your computer.

Looks like a shoo-in for Worst Wad of 2011. 22 votes, 0 stars... This should be all the evidence we need.

Anything which is uploaded by Perseus, who is clearly a spammer laughing at us all (does he ever post on the forums?), is like a golden poo with all the gold sucked out by a grimacing, horrified community. And what is left? Just the poo. Better upload that poo, it might be important!

At least in the old days people made bad wads that were supposed to be good, instead of bad wads that are deliberately bad the way they do nowadays.

Well the readme does say you CAN upload this as long as the text and wad aren't modded. But why would you waste your time in uploading something not of your works when the author can do it himself? That is very unconventional on this site and is looked down upon here and the Doom world. - General Mike

I am pretty sure "general mike", whoever the hell that is, doesn't speak for the entirety of doomworld.

Hmm. The wad is 1.4MB unzipped. 25 levels. See the problem here? Curiosity killed the cat. Boxy 1995 era levels, misaligned textures, redundancy. All around crap. This is awful quantity based crap. Please don't upload this. 0/5 Waste of my time.

Boxy and boring, but I don't see why perseus is being blamed. He didn't make the wad. If you don't like something, you aren't obligated to play it.

Really good puzzle map in a big dark metal/stone building. It catches the atmosphere of Bob Evans' Eternal Doom stuff, and I think there are even some homages to some other Eternal Doom maps as well (for example, the big two-layered outdoor area looks a bit like the "amusement park" in MAP26).   In my experience the puzzles were a bit easier than in "Silures" or "Excalibur", but it's possible that having played a lot of puzzle map stuff since I played Eternal Doom, having played through the whole canon of Bob Evans and Jim Flynn, and liking to search for Doom secrets in every map has made me recognize certain tropes better. The puzzles I liked most were (the spoilers only give minor hints):
Gameplay is good too, at the start ammo is scarce so the chainsaw and berserk are your friend, and midtiers say hello from the start on, but hitscanners are the biggest threat. Rockets should be saved for archviles until you find the first larger cache.   9,5/10

Fun, challenging set of maps that looks much better than you might expect for the time it was made. These maps will still slap you around a bit on HMP if you're not staying sharp. The author is fond of Chaingunner ambushes which keep you on your toes. I didn't find the SSG until around MAP05, which was cool, I like when its not given out too early. Pistol-starting the last two maps is pretty tough, but doable.   The map designs do a really good job of letting the player see crucial areas from different angles through progression and the layouts are really tidy overall, and feel a bit more modern than a lot of other 94/95 maps I've played. There are some really nice large-scale vistas (like the start of MAP06), nice uses of verticality and a good mixture of tight and more open combat.   Recommended!

Spectacular visuals and engaging combat make this an absolute must play. There's a puzzle with a "Shoot the thing" answer that kind of comes out of left field and can be an easy place to get stuck if you're not on your toes, but that hardly stops the map from being a thrilling masterpiece.

E3M9's refrain of back-tracking to a church for keys is a little tedious, and there are a few moments where things can become a frustrating key/switch hunt as you figure out what to do next, but aside from that, this an intense and rewarding adventure with beautiful lighting and architecture.
