About This File

This map is full of interesting places. You'll be able to see the exit and the key you need very soon after you begin - but you won't be getting to them for quite some time. You will also come to a dead end fairly soon on your journey. The way out will be clearly marked, although you may not understand how it will help.

Superlative wad! Not particularly difficult but the fun in this one lies in exploration and ferreting those secrets out as well as killing monsters. For sheer enjoyability I give it 4/5.

A smart level by Eudy, which shows his tendency to make the player think as he progresses without making navigation really confusing. I played his Clinic level before this, and being for DOOM, this one is (as expected) easier, although I would say it also looks better in general. [3/5] ~Chain Mail (03/2011)

Use more SUPPORT1 (or 2) textures. They make nice detail. Try to make ceiling more often higher and downer. You used nicely Monsters and barrels on the map. Nice work on that. Nice Doom1 style. Nice work, keep Doom alive! :D

Another good wad from Kevin Eudy who's maps have all seemingly been reuploaded to the internet after his website at geocities went down. Technically this looks and plays well, with good monster placement and even one room early on that requires you to blow up barrels to trigger the lift. However the map is not anything all that special and lacks excitement, not to say that this ruins the map though as it simply gives it a different kind of atmosphere that works 3/5.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
