Double Impact

This is definitely one of the best doom1 pwads I have ever played. The layout of the maps is great and mostly nonlinear. All maps looks great even without much details. Only thing I would criticize is, that all the maps expect E1M8 offer the nearly the same chellenge and the same method of play. 4.5/5 - Damned

Tough but awesome. Feels like Doom 95 to me but with harder difficulty.

Tough? Only if you're playing Doom for the second time OR if you stupidly run between bullets... take your time and advance carefully into this experienced set of maps. And sometimes, give it all you got. GAMEPLAY! Veteran Doomers will have NOTHING to complaint about in here.FUNtastic *pfl*

Too little health for all those shotguys in the darkness. (and there's a lot of dark passages!) Not fun on HMP and above. 3/5

Just face it, "slaughter" maps were just an easy way out for making a map difficult rather than actually trying and thus succumb to easily predicted fights that mostly consists of spamming BFGs... like in Nuts and DVII. Just look at the base ganymede series, Khorus doesn't need to put in hundreds of high-level monsters to make a map hard. A map needs to be more than pretty to be fun. 3/5

Maybe the best Doom episode I've played.

Maps were way too huge for their own good and made them way less fun than they could have been. E1M8 was bullshit with '94 cyberdemon placement up the ass. 2/5

A Great E1 replacement. Probably one of the most challenging I've played in a while. To reviewers 3 and 8, Doom wasn't MEANT to be anything, it is what we make it today. 5/5 from me. -DH 85

4/5, it's fun for a while, but I got bored with it around the fourth level.

People cryign about too many monsters? oh wow. Gave this a playthrough on UV really great, tons of great traps and secrets, a but of a key/doorhunt at times but the good far outshines the bad. Works well with brutaldoom as well.

Cool layouts, but vast majority of gameplay is shotgun/chaingun (not as fun as the power weapons and ssg, imo). No bfg in any maps. Barely any barons. Cybers and Spiderdemons only in last map. I know this is E1 replacement, but I'm "taking this episode ON ITS OWN MERITS". I still rated 5 though, so shut up.

Brilliant WAD that would deserve a nomination for a Cacoward or an honorable mention at the very least. Level design is outstanding and beautiful, for the most part, and it'll keep you busy for many hours. 5/5. - ZZ
