Rarely I try to play some Heretic maps because somehow it's not inspiring. Now this megawad tries to do something good with heretic, new more powerful weapons and places that stay in mind and are original. How heretic should be. Some levels are too big though. 4.5/5 - Optimus

Nice effort, but....falls short somehow. Still average, though. 3/5. (for something good from this year, see 16357 or 16441)

A lot of nice ideas and atmosphere, but gets a bit wasted because of quite bad difficulty balance (had to godmode in a number of fights) and unpolished sections (had to noclip a couple times to escape, too). IMHO, a partially-missed excellent opportunity. 3*

It has good maps(but some is a little boring), but too many ammo and some of monsters are overpowered... 3.5/5 -playerlin

The first impression is WTF? when playing this, but when replaying it I realised that the new weapons are actually very good, and the level design not nearly as bizarre. It really does feel like a quest you're fighting though, however some dodgy new enemies sometimes throw the whole thing off. Flying D'Sparil was very annoying too.

First up this wad deserves credit for redesigning the whole weapon arsenal yet still making it feel like it's truly Heretic. Same goes for the enemies, with the odd exception. The book-weapon is the most useless thing I have ever seen (especially since the different spells are selected at complete random). Level design is of perfect complexity to the Heretic universe. Keep forgetting that there is 8 weapons tho.

      These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

      A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

      Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

      Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

      It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
