About This File

This is my first attempt at something like this. I've made maps before, but never tried publishing them. The only map in this replaces the first map of Doom 2. I plan to make six more maps to follow this one for a campaign, but I needed feedback for the direction I was going in. Jumping and free-aiming play sort of a big part and there are deepwater segments and line defs that spawn monsters. Tried to make use of some of the neat Skulltag/zDoom engine features. This map maybe takes about 8 minutes to complete after fully exploring everything. There is a secret level exit, but when activated, you're given an on screen message that the level is not made yet (no crashing or anything :))

Good architecture and level structure, but WAY too short. Would like to see more from this author.

the blood drop sound drove me nuts and the massive amount of gibs slowed down my pc to unplayable levels at times. 2 stars

Very derivative and short, but done well enough.

It's not bad. The lighting's a little TOO colorful, perhaps, and the Beautiful DOOM effects make it seem a little gimmicky (although even my 3-year old PC, I didn't notice any slowdowns). The level itself is pretty standard, but the music track's very atmospheric. All in all, promising - I encourage the author to keep on making levels and work on finding the right balance and their own style. 3/5 - ZZ

Decent job, but it'd have been nice to work on more in game detail (such as objects...etc). It felt like a basic level with colors and some ACS thrown in. Overall it was fun for a short while but I wish there was a bit more detail.

Too short and lighting so weird, but really good. Using things in Beautiful Doom cause this map needed powerful computer to run and used a lot of data resources cause this wad is about 20 MB and just a one short playable map, too bad. 3.5/5 -playerlin

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
