Just rating the 5minmap.wad. Bah... some maps are bad in a way that allows you to navigate around all enemies and skip them. Some others are good in a sense. These maps are challenges of BFG spamming and avoidance of massive monster attacks. It's not completely terrible, but it's not a gimmick that should be repeated.

How is one supposed to judge a wad like this? At least it's a short and, for the most part, easy experience to burn through. Some minor fun to be had here 'n there, so it earns a 3/5

Most of these maps are complete shit even for 5 min maps. There are some gems here and there but not many. 2/5 stars.

These maps are as innovative as Requiem, as hard as Hell Revealed, and as epic as Eternal Doom. They even have the dry wit of Massmouth 2. Multiplayer is greater, with deathmatch better than Gothic DM and co-op equaling Memento Mori. This looks like a GZDoom wad, but amazingly, it's Boom compatible. It's not on the same level as other megawads, but the works of John Steinbeck and Dmitri Shostakovich. If you don't think this is the best megawad ever, you know nothing about Doom and gaming in general. 5/5

Funny idea. Storm through all of them in less than 5 minute each :) 5/5 - Optimus

5 minute maps are to speedmaps are what 32x32 maps are to 1024x1024 maps - fun for a couple of minutes, but not more. The maps by TrueDude aren't actually bad for the most part; as for the rest, there's some decent ones, but most are just what you'd expect. This was probably more fun to make than to play. 2/5 - ZZ

The idea is not bad, but I think many maps isn't enough to the standard for playing at all. Some levels would be good but...it still not enough for a megawad. 2.5/5 -playerlin

This just takes the speedshitting genre to ludicrous heights. While few people actually are able to put effort into their speedmaps, this is just a shitsucker compounded by the fact that the author admits to the low standards these maps were created by what with all unfinished maps and glaring HOMs out the ass.

I liked the "5min instant HR carnage" in some maps, just add hot water! (maps 25/27, and map 28 in the bonus wad). Looking forward to the 10 minute collection :D ****

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
