About This File

You are a space marine. You are stuck in a nightmare. You must escape from this nightmare. Yes, this is somewhat inspired by Alice and Wonderland. So what. The point is its a a 6 level mapset that tries to be dreamlike and mysterious, so I hope you like it!

The maps are original and well designed, but very frustrating to play. Loads of monsters, dying for no reason, and a merciless trial-and-error gameplay... Nice ideas, but for me is a 2/5.

Map shows potential. However, being frequently killed (or loosing exactly 100% health) for no visible or logical reason while just being / moving somewhere, is not my idea of gameplay. Finished level 1 @ UV, but gave up shortly at level 2 because I simply lost my interest. Design: 2.5/5. Playability: 0.5/5. Overall: 2/5 for the efford. BTW there are some HOMs @ 2560x1440

Sorry, this is no Alice in Wonderland. The first map has these exploding barrel traps so there is a linear path to follow. Death is everywhere, which is not good for first time visitors. The last map is not VGA/CDI friendly. 0/5

An interesting design blighted by the fact that almost every monster you fight teleports to the battle area (or is hiding in a trapdoor) - This is a running theme in FoH's maps that I just really, really don't like.

Don't be fooled by trolls above; this is a very decent wad with awesome level design and clever ideas.

Each level is psychedelic without the so called 'clever' ideas. This wad fails to deliver but rather teleports you to an instakill room every other second.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this is a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
