About This File

A medium difficulty 1990's style map set in a base. The design is linear and inspired by id software's maps with some new elements. The goal is simple. Fight your way out of this base! ... There are also 8 secrets to be found and a bonus map named the War Room which contains a battle with Arachnotrons and a Cyberdemon.

Verdict: Don't consider Map02 because you can IGNORE IT. If you don't like it, it doesn't count. Clearly it is not the main level and penalizing the author for not splitting it into two different wads, which there was no need to do, is bad etiquette.

Read the text, the second level is NOT a serious map. So it's not really fair to judge into the overall score.

In MAP02, it's possible to slip past the archvile and into the exit room before it closes, thus completing it UV-Speed style. 4/5 for awesomeness. (-1 for MAP02's pretty much level breaking bug)

Hmm... First level is a nice 10-minutes wad, worth a play: 43.5/5. 2nd level is imo wot: 1/5. The 2nd is meant to be considered not serious but IS uploaded in the same so, so overall 3/5 for the set

Not a bad little map. Linear, and not too many surprises. But fun. 3/5

Good level and a less good bonus level. The main level ia a bit easy towards the end (seriously, FULL ROCKET SUPPLY AND RL IN ONE SECRET??? After finding it I didn't bother to search for 5 remaining secrets. And an unneeded invul for mastermind.). 4/5

The first level was enjoyable, but that second level was disappointing.

Lotta fun as I would expect from a pcorf map.

While playing through map01 with chocolate-doom, right before I got the yellow key, it gave me this error: "Sector with more than 22 adjoining sectors. Vanilla will crash here" So I guess this requires at least a limit-removing port.

These levels are short, sweet, and pack a lot of punch. Complete with a humorous end-text-screen containing a healthy dose of silly shock-humor, this a masterful triumph of Heretic map-making, and most certainly a must-play wad.

A really frantic and fun DM map with pretty neat stuff like invisible pillar in the middle of the arena, doesn't have anything to do with the title but the level can become a BFG spamming fest soon, especially with bots. Less fun in SP but the arch-ville+bunch of nazi combo is a nice feat.

Only six enemies (played on UV) and no working exit. Other than that, it is a pretty detailed map for 1995. I enjoyed the general design and the poisonous vats of acid. Very cool, but not practical for good gameplay.   EDIT: Just discovered this is a ideally a DM wad… haha, for that purpose, it seems good. My original rating was 2/5, will change it now.

Lots of traps and monster closets. Some switches are activated by shooting but there's nothing to really tell you about this because they look the same as other switches.   Texturing is good and enemy placement proved rather difficult at times. There aren't may health pickups on UV so it was a fight to get through.

It's pretty good for 1994. If you don't mind having no health items at all (except in a few maps) and the outrageous amounts of cyberdemons per map, you should give it a try. It's pretty challenging and I like it. E2M3 is a bit 'eh...' though.
